Christmas day 2007 in ramsgate harbour. The weather was cold and misty with a bit of wind. The result is an eerie sound as the wind rattles the rigging of the yachts, enhanced by a couple of birds flying across the harbour making mournful squawks.

Lazily rowing a boat, recorded with focus on the creaking rowlocks, but distinct splashing sound as the oar dips into the water. Recorded on zoom h2.

Sailing on the baltic sea (radio gale warning at the end).

Bow wave of a ~8m sailing boat in calm water, distant micing. No sounds from the sail (could just as well be a motor boat depending on what you layer the sound with ;) ). The soundscape is the result of the sum of different sound effects recorded at the port, edited and processed with logic.

A fisherman is in a boat, he walks, he shaves (yes… shaves), throws the net, and then a storm begins. He pick up the net, and then the calm comes. A sound story made with foley by old fisherwomen in a sons de barcelona workshop at eufònic festival.

This is a mono recording of around ten seagulls floating on the calm morning sea, begging for some fish. Mic: dpa-4017, mixer/recorder: sd-552.
