Large river rapids running strongly after winter rain. Recorded approximately fifty feet above water level. The river flows and turns through a narrow, high, partly exposed bedrock canyon which likely amplifies the sound of the rapids. The first nine seconds are unedited. The last two seconds have a fade out applied. In summer you can walk where the centre channel is in winter, so this is a lot of water moving swiftly down the cowichan river to the salish sea. In couros, guimarães, portugal, there is a river going through abandoned factories, housing, in the middle of the city. It served the old tanneries' tanks, dating probably 1000 years. I recorded this while walking alongside it. With my zoom h6, with the msh-6 mic, fully opened. September, 2020.
