This is a field recording, done using a zoom h6 with attached stereo mic. The limiter (general type) was activated on the channel. This is the raw recording without any eq or dynamics added. A quick normalization gave a nice, rich signal that you might be able to use for any purpose. Apply a low pass filter to cut out the rain. Well, enjoy. :). More of this will be uploaded.

I saw this huge storm brewing, so i put my laptop next to an open window, thinking that i might record a nice atmospheric recording of rain and light thunder, and i caught this thing, no more than 500m away. I had the sensitivity turned all the way up, and the microphone i am using isn't the best, but someone might get a use of it :).

It annoyed me i couldn't find this atmosphere anywhere here, so i decided to build this for you: remember the classic "thunder rolls then a wolf howls" sound bed used on so many kids' shows back in the 1970's? well, here you go! this is uses the classic thunderclap by a freesound user whose name i can't remember but will ad when i do remember, some more classic moaning wind by me, a retro wolf howl performed by yours truly with added reverb on top. The sound of birds and distant thunder awoke me from a long nap, and so i sprung off the couch and grabbed my recording equipment, dashing outside just in time to record the arrival of a thunderstorm.
