This musical instrument is vietnamese jew's harp dan moi, recorded at my home using my computer and microphone.

The sound is composed with four partials,each partial includes a number of different harmonics,similar to additive synthesis. I am using yamaha moxf 6.

This instrument is from lithuania. It is similar to a dulcimer or a cither. The samples are recordings from a free vst- instrument.

I searched for a long time to find a jaws harp sample and eventually found one and successfully extracted a few notes from a very old appalachian folk song field recording, well out of copyright. I sampled a single note, which then fed ok into a midi keyboard, allowing me to effectively play jews harp melodies. The result was pretty ok.

This is the sound of a group of harp strings being excited using the hairs of a violin bow, but processed in two iterations.

All sounds are created with the pluck-. Function of audacity. I modified the attack phase, changed some harmonics with notch-filter andlowpass. For the pluck noise i used a bandpass- filtered white noise.
