Recording of a fireplace where some wood is burning, the wood is not much dry so the sound is crunchy. I recorded few takes and edit and mixed them to get the right sound. Recorded using a stereo pair (ab) connected to an apogee mini-me and a computer.

Still random frequency transformed with plugins. This time it's a saw waveform moduled by a sine lfo. Add a little of this and a little of that. Make me thing at a the sound of the rain on a strange planet!.

An improvised stoner riff played on an archtop guitar passed through pharaoh fuzz then through an orange amplifier with overdrive enabled. After that the signal goes directly into the computer. Recorded using an alesis io/2 interface with input set to "line" and gain to the minimum.

This is actually an odd sound my thermos makes when i don't close the lid properly. I guess it could be used for all sorts of abstract things, like ants talking to each other, alien sounds, organic things in general. It's just air going through a thin space. Feel free to use, no need to attribute, but i'd love to know where it went.

I typed quite slow in the beginning if you need to edit out and synch with your footage, if you just want typing sound in the background i think the best is in the end of the clip. The mouse clicking comes later in the clip. I've mixed it a bit but might need more mixing. A close up recording of an overheating usb slot-loading cd/dvd drive that repeatedly tries to spin up, but fails and makes some clicking noises. Note on low frequency sounds: i recorded this with a zoom h1n recorder at about 2cm distance from the drive slot. I held the recorder in my hand and rested my hand on the surface the cd drive was resting on, so there is somewhat of a mechanical connection between the drive's vibrations and the recorder. I believe this led to the low frequency parts of the recording. About halfway through the recording, i lifted the drive up with my other hand and held it at a 30degree angle to the surface and recorder. As you can hear in the recording, this made it spin up a little longer before failing and spinning back down.

The sound of a midland x-talker ringing when i hit the call button. It sounds like one of these old home phones. All i did was plug the walkie-talkie into my computer and then record the sound when i push the call button. This could be a good walkie-talkie sound.

I get this call from my daughter's elementary school, first week of school and already a cyber attack, messing up the entire school's computer systems. It is indeed a sad world where not even grade school kids are safe from these cyber pirates. So i tweaked the recording a bit, added panned out echo and noise reductio. Enjoy!.
