It is a summer afternoon, flying swallows can be heard and the place is teeming with tourists from all nations sitting and drinking coffee or listening to a group of folk singers which can be heard in the distant background. Part of the square is covered with a large wooden porch, making quite a clatter as the tourists walk over it. Recorded with a zoom h2. Recorded on june 29, 2012 near the exit at webster's department store. This features how the checkout area at websters sounded from june 2012 untill its closing on november 3, 2015. This is part of a pack of 4k sounds recorded over 17 years commemorating my friend's department store which she owned. It showcases how the sounds in the store have changed over the years as the technology of teh store changes. Each recording is done within a week after the cash registers are upgraded. As of the date of this posting, webster's is now closed, and will re-open as a walmart in january of 2016.

This is a mono recording of a busy checkout section of a supermarket here in the midwest.

This was recorded as part of a tracking shot for a project i did a few years ago. It starts off from the exterior of a fancy london pub around the primrose hill area, walking in to a fairly packed establishment. It tracks movement into different parts of the pub. There's fairly prominent music for the first half but it eases off to barely audible later on in the audio. A few minutes in, you'll hear the bartender announce the price (6. 95) a couple of times. Recorded on zoom h6 with x/y capsule.

This is a recording i got sat outside a retro clothes shop on portobello road in london. Distant music combined with the market and people walking past creates a busy scene with the busy road that runs over the top of the market giving a nice base to fill out the recording. This sound is free to use but i'd love to see what it is used in!.

Stereo field-recording of early morning (ca. 7:30 am) traffic on a rainy weekday in the little english town of goring-on-thames. The street is quite busy with traffic and has been mic'd close-range, giving quite a wide stereo image. One can clearly hear the rotten weather this clip was recorded in.

4ch surround recording of the intersection of the opernring and kärntener straße in vienna/austria. The recording was conducted close range at street level directly at the intersection by a tram line, the rear mics, featured in this file, are pointing onto the sidewalk, away from the street, at a right angle. I was sitting in my car in the city centre of glasgow scotland waiting for a member of my family, so to pass the time i got out my little canon powershot a460 digital camera, wound down my window and recorded the sound of the heavy traffic driving past my car.
