For the recording, i used the tree-ear method, holding the microphones on either side of a tree, which results in a very wide stereo field (considering the capsules are omni). It was recorded in my backyard on a winter day which was actually more like a spring day.

A thunderstorm in the night at 2:30 am. Starts calm with some crickets. At 1:02 a magpie can be heard, which seems to be startled by the first thunderclap. Recorded in south germany near heilbronn. This emulates the ambient noise of a planet sized computer and its associated gargantuan processes. I aimed for a "what if" scenario. What if v'ger could speak to other similar artificial entities of enormous size and complexity. Originally recorded on zoom h2.
