I needed the sound of some keys that were put on a table. So i did the recording myself with a simple headset-mic. It's a very simple recording, hope you can work with it. The putting down was done in 3 different manners from quick to slow and picking them up again.

Using nonlinearcircuits sloth lfo (regular version) to control volume, pan an some other stuff. . . Always nice to see/hear chaos in action. Sloth delivers cv and let me play with a ruffly tuned chord that goes thoughan analog delay pedal.

After ~1min i switch "noise core disruptor" (jupiter storm) off. Evaluation of patch/soundone cycle is about 28 sec - goodonly short sounds - badamplitude variation - goodpitch variation - goodtimbre variation - goodmusical value - low to mediumentertaining - high, or what?. Very loud recording of an arcade i went to recently. Unfortunately wasn't alone so i had to cut it down quite a bit. It's in crusty mono quality because of my phone (moto g power) and its recorder app (ez voice recorder) but i suppose i can call it lo-fi if i wanted to. So i will!.

A continuous blank record groove running almost 22 minutes in length. This is from the unused backside of a 1961 test pressing made for a commercial release on the mgm record label. Nothing is looped or enhanced in any way. The final 28 seconds of the file is the stylus riding in the lock groove near the label. For anyone curious about the vinyl source, a discogs page exists for it. Https://www. Discogs. Com/sam-the-man-taylor-sam-the-man-taylor-plays-hollywood/release/20174371.

Playing with quantussy cells in vcv-rack, creating generative music. I call in machine composition, but this time its done on a virtual modular. Hmmm no 100 should have been done on a real modular. . .

The sounds of when you unplug an audio cable and plug it back in. Recorded like this, it was kinda ridiculous but very fun:unplugging and re-plugging a 1/8" to rca cable from a phone -> used one of the rca outputs -> rca to 1/4" adapter -> scarlett 2i2 -> protools.

Around 2010, i circuit-bent a motorola cellphone and added a control surface to control the bends. Then i added an atari paddlewheel so its big potentiometer could be used to do pitchbends, and the result is an instrument i called the "sonic electronic ball breaker". It's got knives, quarterstaves, thor's lightning, sharp sticks, nuclear machineshotguns, and even some claws that come out to jab 'em. In this sample i'm going through and playing with the controls to see what i get. These sounds are pretty abrasive, but they work well when run through a bunch of effects.
