This a sound effect i created in acid pro for a play. It is intended to represent a conflagration with an explosive start, a fire alarm and then the approach of fire engines. The play was set in the eighties. It is made from a combination of sounds drawn from field recordings, freesound effects and purchased sound effects.

A fire alarm beeping at 3:00 am. It decided to beep, so i decided to publicize it and let the world hear it's voice. This was recorded in an apartment complex with the fire alarm just outside the door. It always does this at random parts of the day, and it's not that annoying but, it happens.

Self-created fire alarm. The idea is based on the typical fire alarm in buildings and was supplemented by a typical (slightly pitched) sound sequence of the us emergency vehicles. I don't remember making this, but i'm pretty sure all i did was run some white noise through bassboost a couple times. It works for earthquakes, distant tiger roars, and other subsonic sounds.

I took some matches, burned the whole package at the same time, then i moved it around the mic to get those lo-popping sound and all the hiss. I duplicated it on 4 tracks to get some stereo effect.
