Cool sounds from filter. The two filters filter a tri-wave. The filters are almost self oscillating and are modulated by an lfo. Natural tones. And some spring reverb and analog delay.

An unsilent patch to celebrate that my spring reverb now is silent - when i want it to be silent. Spring reverbs can be sensitive to electricity. No my spring tank is hidden away!.

Bacteria music made with modular synth.

Created and formatted for the make noise morphagene, this reel is divided into three sections with like sounds clustered together for ease of navigation. The first group of splices are glitchy, percussive, experimental, modular snippets. The middle third consists of melodic and chordal washes. The final cluster is a series of field recordings taken from a recent trip to beirut, lebanon, with a cut up inspired splice at the very end. Collectively, i hope this sonic material will inspire the user to mangle, manipulate, and deconstruct to taste.

I have built a nonlinearcircuits sloth lfo, the regular version. Sloth is a chaotic lfo. The output is based on the lorenz system. It is a system of ordinary differential equations. It is notable for having chaotic solutions for certain parameter values and initial conditions. In particular, the lorenz attractor is a set of chaotic solutions of the lorenz system which, when plotted, resemble a butterfly or figure eight (very much from wikipedia). The sloth has two outputs x and y. Think of them as coordinate pairs. The output will probably never repeat itself but there is a pattern. I have built the regular sloth it usually takes approx 15 seconds to make a rough figure 8, one cycle in the “butterly”. The knob changes the chaotic pattern. At some settings the signals will spend more time in one strange attractor than the other. Now i’m testing the module in different ways. In this sound i have connected white noise to a filter. The filter frequency is controlled by sloth (x output). In this patch i have set the initial frequency at 12 o'clock. . . The output sound from filter goes to reverb.

Self modulating a standard doepfer a-110 vco. We are listening to a square wave. I'm modulating with a sinus. I'm wiggling pwm and the degree of self modulation (and attack and decay). Spring reverb and analog delay from stomp box.

Time for a quantussy!.

It's fun to patch up a kind of analog shift register (3 stages). Doepfer a-160 controls the stages. On a-160 i use /2, /4 and /8. I sample slewed noise. No quantizer.

The yamaha qy-10 is playing a cm chord thru zoom ms-70cdr and the modular synth plays a patch that improvises around a cm7 chord. Well, thats it. . .

Percussion made in blok modular. Kind of morphs around but plenty of bongos and some kind of shaker towards the end. You can maybe get a couple of claps out of the end part too. Sometimes sounds a little too fm-y (think sega genesis sounds) but others sound pretty organic imo.

Unused sequence that i recorded using my modular analog synth.

Some cafe ambience severely altered with blok modular fx. Was originally a long jam cut up into a bunch of individual files but i figured searching through them would be a pain so i merged them back into one file. So listen through and pick the sounds you like with a wav editor, or enjoy it in its own regard as abstract sound sculpture or something. I don't want to divulge too much of what the patch looked like but it random note values with each keyboard press which were then ran through a waveshaper. Later on i add some reverb and use various things to alter the panning for some strange stereo effects. Edit: you might want to use a dc eliminator on the samples because the waveshaper creates some dc offset (basically useless low/zero frequency noise for those not in the know). Alienxxx and i had a little private dare. This is how it sounds when i have mixed the two resulting files. I made a schematic sketch on a simple modular patch. All info was this sketch. Basically i connected one lfo to the polivoks in. Now when i think of it. Wonder if that added something…. And how much. And to cv1 i connected a square wave and to cv2 a wide frequency sine wave. Resonance at max. Think i have to reanalyse this patch later… i’ll be back!.
