A long recording on board the "green car" of the jr tokkaido line from atami to shinagawa. A "green car" refers to the first class cars on some long distance local trains. The ride is smoother and the cars are generally much quieter. The cars are generally empty but, this was at the end of a 3 day weekend, so the car was actually quite active (i'll try to get a quiet one soon). You can hear the ticket attendant, the conductor's announcements, station arrivals and departures, passengers getting on and off the train and settling in and having conversations. At some point you can hear the guy behind me eating senbei (a crunchy japanese rice cracker) - that's a little annoying, but there might be some usable bits in there if you're good at editing backgrounds. But like i said, i'll try to get a less busy train next time. Recorded with 2 stereo mic pairs and unedited.

Recording of parakeets being loud in springfield park in easy london at 7:30am in november. This was an unintentional recording as i was testing out some new gear, this meant that i wasn't able to unclip the mics from my rucksack straps and avoid picking up the rustle of my clothes and some breathing. A train and canal boat engines can be heard in the background. This recording was made using a sound devices mixpre6ii and a stereo pair of fel em172 mics. Low cut on the sd which in basic mode is 80hz (i think). There is no processing to this recording other than to ‘normalize’ the levels. I do not require any credit or attribution. Brief recording aboard a red line train in chicago, roughly from sheridan to lawrence going north towards howard, recorded sometime in winter 2019. You can hear some chatter in the background. Unfortunately there is some slight cell phone interference in the last few seconds.

Sounds recorded by me for my previous indie film. Weapons are live and firing blanks from different locations as part of the movie making process. Various echoes and other sound qualities reflect where the shooter is compared to the sound recorder. Sounds with street echo are particularly useful in sound design of street shootouts with automatic weapons. Weapon id: heckler & koch mp5a3 - 9mm.

An express train of kintetsu railway passes by at rather high speed. Connecting my at835st to a newly purchased edirol r-44. I actually bought it for need of recording four channels of drums sound, but i was completely astonished by its great ability as a field recorder. Wonderful mic preamps, aren't they?.
