Recording of molten lava slowly advancing forward at kilauea volcano, hawaii. The cooling thin crust of the lava and the movement produces constant popping and clicking like sounds. Some wind at the microphone disturbed the recording. Rare human sounds come from observers staying at the area. Recorded with zoom h2n, postprocessing in steinberg wavelab le (only normalization).

I made this sound in audacity made by making a fart noise kinda slow it down and pitch-shifted it.

Recorded in nuuk, greenland, outside the city. A big pile of snow melting on the mountain's side made this little stream of water. Recorded with tascam dr-10048000 hz stereo, 16-bit wave pcm uncompressed.

This is the sound of silica gel (at least i think it is; it's a type of sand grains from the cat's litter bin, and the small crystal like rocks are supposedly silica gel) in water. Recorded with a hydrophone (aquarian audio h2a) into a zoom h4n.

Active volcano recorded from the top, at the edge of the crater, during the night. Recorded by a doublems setup by schoeps, ccm41+ccm8+ccm4 (in a cinela windscreen),an ab setup by dpa microphones, 2 x 4006,and a geofon by lom audio. On a sound devices 833 recorder. Melting snow dripping from trees - in a quiet garden-suburb environment. Cars, passing airplane and some birds in background. Recorded with zoom h1. Absolutely free to use.

This is my first sample - hope to give back the energy to you all for some downloaded samples from freesound. Recorded in the swiss alps in spring. This was a huge tunnel under a glacier and i had my dat and to omnis with me.

Alaska, glacier bay, ice bergs melting, crashing, tinkling, with a whale breach.

Needed sustained ice movement in a video, so i lenghtened a bit of a real ice recording with ableton live's granulator ii with some random moving about to make it kinda realistic.

A bubbling sound which makes an excellent loop for a background sound effect. Like a scientist's lab, or a wizard's cauldron bubbling away. I've also thought it would be a cool sort of futuristic bubble car kind of sound as well as it floats along. Anyway, use your imagination and apply it to whatever you want. I made the sound by flicking my lips with my finger, but it makes a great bubble sound.

The davis-schrimpf onshore seep field site in the salton sea geothermal system is the result of shallow magmatic intrusions in a sedimentary basin. The ssgs is situated in the salton trough in southern california, an area with abundant surface manifestations of hydrothermal activity. The hydrothermal system in the salton trough occurs in a pull-apart setting where rifting and associated magmatic intrusions are responsible for the strong heat flow. One of the most concentrated and well-expressed onshore seep fields is the davis-schrimpf field, where more than 50 individual seeps are located in this area. Gas venting from gryphons and pools is vigorous with a continuous bubbling activity. Water and mud mixtures are continuously expelled down the flanks of the gryphons. Carbon dioxide produced from de-volatilization reactions involving sedimentary carbonate is the main driver for the seep activity. The morphological features of the davis- schrimpf seep field are strikingly similar to seep fields on dormant mud volcanoes however, the davis-schrimpf seeps are not related to mud volcanism, as mud volcanism normally implies large-scale mud breccia eruptions and a low temperature seep stage. This is the sound of silica gel being put in water. The chemical reaction can be heard acoustically, but this was recorded with a hydrophone into a zoom h4n. Have fun.

Recorded on 20. 05. 2020 on schneealpe in styria, austria. Its funny - and a bit scary - that one can see the exact crevice the recording took place from a satellite. There was a bit of snow left from winter but rapidly melting. Drops fall from 30 cm to the rock below in different rhythms. Recorded with 2 km184 ab ~40cm apart into sounddevices 744. Unfortunately i had no proper windscreen and so there is quite some rumble up to 120hz. The rumble can be filtered out easily, but i left the recording as is (i normalized and converted from 96k to 48k in audacity).
