Recorded on the municipal wharf at santa cruz, california on 20 oct 2012 using a zoom h2. Sea lions calling. These sea lions live at the wharf. Recorded on a zoom h4n in stereo. The lions were fairly far away. I've amped it a bit make them louder and removed some bass rumble. We actually had lions walk through and roar (!) in our camp one night! unfortunately i didn't have my recorder running then. It was deafeningly loud! next time!.

I couldn't find an actual lion snore so i took to liberty of taking an actual recording of a person snoring and treated it so it could sound something similar to the desired sound.

Noises of the sea in mauritius, taken as is with the edirol r9.

This is a variation on a guttural growl i made to depict some giant bears in power armour. I recorded myself with a zoom h1 and then fiddled with pitch shifts etc to get to this big cat noise (well, that was what i was aiming for).
