This is a fantastically clean stereo recording of a paste gong that was about 3 feet in diameter. Recorded in a very dry room with a mid-sides mic setup. Mics used were akg 414, and an oktava mk-012-01 pencil condenser.

A field recording i made. The original file was about 3 hours long, i just cut a cool piece out and uploaded it :: gear: one røde nt-1a (right channel) and one shure 8700 (left channel; eq-based hiss reduction) :: setup: both microphones were mounted next to each other with an offset of about 2. 5 meters :: the preamp for the nt1-a was the on-board preamp of the yamaha mg16/4 mixing console. A technical problem i had with my technics stereo cassette desk rs-5 where playback would deliver this fading squarewave at maximum volume. Apparently, it could have been an issue with the tape header wearing out. Thought i might as well upload it here, as i'm not sure anyone will be able to create this sound again. Note, this sound was de-amplifiied by 10 db in audacity 3. 1. 3. Simply put, the raw file was incredibly loud. If you're curious enough, you can increase it back up to its original volume, though i wouldn't advise it.

Part 2 of 3, swooshes. While on skype, someone i was calling left the mic on while he packed for a trip. A transmission error caused a unique distortion effect while he was moving gear and typing. These are the swooshes, normally made from dragging objects or sustained rustling. . . I think.

Please comment if you download, i am interested to see what it's being used for. I am not looking to be credited at all it's just pure interest. I do this for fun. I did this with my mouth and pitched it down 3 semitones. No other effects were used.

I made this recording about 3 o'clock in the morning and the early morning summer insect chorus was joined by the "iron horse" -- man's ever present reminder of the river of man's commerce. Made with my zoom h4n field recorder using it's built-in internal microphones. .

Short room tone captured from a medium sized house room. Hour: 2am. Very light birds can be heard sometimes. Mono sound, registered with microphone rode ntg-3 on boompole and recorder tascam hd-p2.

I recorded this at costco in federal way, wa and it is 3 freezer motors running consecutively. I was also walking along the freezers to try to get a stereo effect but don't think it worked too well. But if anyone can use it then go for it :^)i used a 'yamaha pocketrak c24'.
