I recorded some rain outside my front door. This is a tuned (a440) sample which you can use to achieve a sort of soft-yet-textured synth string sound in a virtual instrument like ableton's sampler. I think adding a little fake vibrato to it with multiple conflicting volume lfos sounds pretty nice. You're free to use this sound without attribution. Osc 2 set to sine wave, oct = 3. Noise decay = 127, noise color = 127, noise level = 127. Filter set to low-pass 12 and completely open (=127). Amp env decay = 44.
C add 9 b5 chord played through a journeys synth using bell saw massacre voice at c3 for six seconds. Converted to audio file, copied, copy reversed and two files merged with automatic crossfade. Now 16 and a half seconds long.
