This is a so called "epic" chord progression (amcfg) played rhythmically by the string section of an orchestra: basses, cellos and violins.

2 violins tune up outside for some reason. Birds and trucks are heard in the background. Recorded with a pcm-d50.

I played around with a few sounds and created this by accident, i think it would be great for creating some sort of suspenseful kinda of dark'ish scene in a film.

I think this sounds a bit like a jazz age theme reflecting a journey by steam ship. It was bolted together from little loopable sections (also uploaded separately here) which were all created using edirol orchestral samples and the magic of arpeggiating programs. Feel free to use this for anything you like without crediting me, or assemble your own tune out of the individual sections.

Recorded in a subway station, with an iphone 6, 10 ft away. This guy plays at various stations, namely bedford ave and union square (nyc). He's got a very lively playing style and is always a joy to listen to. I want to get better recording equipment for next time.

Band pass filters applied to a violin improvisation. Nice and ambient. No fades or other additional post production has been done.

A cello slide on the a string i used for a draw a bow sound in cartoon.

Lowest string (f1, gauge 0. 74) playing again, but this time with heavy distortion and no reverb. There is some barely noticeable noise towards the end, picked up by the guitar pickups. Djenty, almost bass guitar stringish tone.

My lowest string (gauge 0. 74) on my schecter omen 8 being hit and left sustaining for about 43 seconds. Clean tone with a short reverb.

Broken string from a turkish banjo that i tense and distend manually to pitch up and down.

Recorded a guitar being plucked and slowed it down to 0. 1% speed. This creates the nice initial pluck sound. Then copied and resampled the copy and slowed down again by 0. 1% speed, this time preserving the original pitch. This created the ultra-long decay tail. Added eos reverb.
