Concrete foley performed with hands. Part of my ‘various hits’ pack - foley on concrete, metal pipes, and plastic surfaced objects in a 10 story stairwell. Recorded on iphone. Added fades, eq’s and compression for easy integration.
This series is done through layering and processing many samples of drum sounds i synthesised using various plugins namely xoxo's vst's and zynaddsubfx mixed with some old hardware samples i made a long time ago. There are 4 packs of the same series : perc snare kick and hats all using the same process.
909 kick with massive distortion and eqíng. Used the eks-9 vst plugin to emulate a 909 kick drum. Placed a huge load of different distortion plugins on different spores, to create a heavy distorted sound. In between those distortion plugins i used several eq's to manipulate the sound. A simple kick/bass drum sound with a deep, sub-bass hum and a short infrasonic punch right at the onset (around 18hz), inspired by, and somewhat reminiscent of, the sounds of hip-hop/trap music. Made using audacity.
An attempt to make an entire drum kit using only cymbal sounds. Cymbals were pitch-shifted, compressed, equalized, and subjected to other effects in order to make them capable of filling the roles usually occupied by actual drums. I used some compression and a bit of eq to make it sound like something you'll hear on a gaming console machine. However, the audio spikes from the high freq took me a while to cut off. Can't figure out why it does that but in my opinion it still sounds good :).
Whenever i'm bored i tend to beatbox, so i decided to multitrack myself one day in the hopes of creating a full song out of it.
