I started recording a vinyl lp into my computer before realising that i hadn’t set the anti-skate properly and the needle was stuck in the lead-in groove. I trimmed this bit of snap crackle n’ pop and kept it in the hope that it might be useful for me or anyone else. Have fun.

Static-like noise recorded on an dusty modular synth. Good if you need some good old audio device noise background.

20s of hiss dithered to 16bit 48khz. Level it much lower to maybe between -40dbfs and -80dbfs and you will have a nice dub or tape noise.

In an attempt to add warmth to my productions, i sampled some of the more distinctive sounds mostly from the lead-ins and lead-outs from dirty/scratched records. If shortened, they make for interesting _analog_ glitch noises.

Notched out some motor noise and selectively eliminated or lessened some other noises for aesthetic reasons.

Stopped in a tiny museum in kansas and the curator turned on the 1900s edison photograph for me and let me record the classic humming, scratchy sound of a turntable turning. The steady rhythm had a very "bioshock infinite" feel to me, and i loved it. Nice to put under music to make it sound old. Recorded on my cellphone and cleaned up in audacity. Production-now. The sound of a needle hitting the surface of a vinyl record.

Its a sine wave folded 4 times by a cgs inspired wavefolder module (kinda like the metalizer from the minibrute). The whole thing is then modulated with an external function generator that controls amount and frequency of modulation. This is what came out and it's pure junky drone noises, so goddamn nasty. Absolutely love them. Feel completely free to sample this and use it for your own purposes. This is a diy synthesizer i'm building and unfortunately it is still a prototype, but i'm gonna finish it soon and hope to sell it. Cool indeed, isn't it?.
