This is the sound of an lrad (long range acoustic device). I managed to create this sound with a basic sample from nch tone generator and a few days of processing in goldwave.
Sound synthesis made from chuck programming language. The model is a connection from an impulse generator to 40 digital filters to 40 delay linesand set feedback between each delay lines. Each delay lines's delay time and cutoff frequency is random. But there was an error in the calculation and the output value overflows. And this create a chaotic behavior in this sample. - - -. This one is a smooth rising soundwith alternating digital aliasing resonances at the end.
Recorded from a siemens kleinsuper a8 tube-driven radio. Those devices were sold in 1958 and 1959. Recorded with a t. Bone sc450 condenser over a behringer ddx3216 digital console into ardour. The sample has been normalized. This sample was recorded from the defective medium wave section of the radio. It contains mostly dark hum and rumbling.
This is some feedback that was recorded in the studio after we had finished recording some songs, it was just something to do, the effect pedal used in this is a 'electro-harmonix polychorus'. Some interesting sounds in there.
trance state. This sfx has been generated by my own secret private program using nyquist api to generate such randomness, using web random. Org pseudo-api to get random integers of tremolo effect, tone generation, it waveform and so on.
