Sound of a computer server/hard drive being turned on.

I have turned up the bass of this recording of an oscillating fan to give it a "warmer" feel to it. Recorded with sony hdr pj260v then edited using audacity.

A simple but effective white noise sweep up created using a white noise signal, using automation to change a simple filter and colour to the sound to create a sweep effect.

First time to try the audacity to record the sound for my application, so accidentally i recorded lucky's painting noise. Lucky is my favor lady dog!.

Bought an old sony walkman from an antique mall. It was advertised as "radio works, but cassette player does not play. " this was true, and i was surprised at the noises it made when you tried to play tapes, though whether or not you have a tape or not it makes these types of noises when you switch it to the metal/chrome setting with dolby b on. You can add a 60 hertz hum if you touch any of the metal parts, and can somewhat mess the sound by messing with the spindles as they move. I may upload some more samples of this at one point, with cleaner recording of each of the sounds you can create.

This sound was created off my black'n'white unfamusic waveform logo. A big (5300x1200) png image was saved as 32-bit uncompressed bmp, and then imported into audacity as raw data in stereo mode, 24-bit unsigned @ 192khz.

This is a long track from a baseball game taken in 2008. There are several different typical professional baseball crowd sounds.

A morphagene reel culled from an improvisation i made on a eurorack modular synth. Qu-bit electronix scanned is the sole voice here. Splices in the reel are ordered from somewhat delicate (taps, pulses, etc. ) to pretty chaotic noise. All recorded into a zoom h6.

Recorded with and formatted with splices for use with the make noise morphagene, but can use for and with whatever of course. Warning that it's it's quite high pitched so you may need to pitch it down with the morphagene's pitch knob a good bit if you want it less harsh. I think i acidentally hit splice instead of record one time so there might be a random short splice somewhere, but maybe it adds some splice length dynamics. . .

Several years back my older brother stumbled upon a bunch of old family reel to reel films and sat down one evening to project them on a wall and digitize them. This is the sound of that process. What you can hear, i imagine, is the noise of the projector in the left channel and the sound of the reels in the right channel. I've been obsessed with the sounds of the infinite variation in old analog hardware. As a sound designer, that infinite variation is often sought after but rarely, or accurately, reproduced through digital files in various libraries. Of if they are, they're often too short to cover whatever scene i am trying to fill. On the surface it's just noise but if you listen closer it's this wonderful cacophony of overlapping and repeating sounds that are always looping but never quite identical on each rotation. It was ripped from youtube using audio hijack at 48khz/16bit, but due to youtube re-encoding things as youtube does, it's nowhere near the source. It's still, in my opinion, a sound worth sharing. This is a recording made in the room of my apartment in italy in the province of rieti while i am playing with a radio-controlled mini helicopter. This recording was done with the shure mv88 digital stereo microphone connected to my iphone 12 pro.
