Since snow has been so widespread, thought it would be a good time to stockpile the beautiful crunchy, crisp sound of walking on it. This was recorded the evening of february 15, 2021 using my marantz pmd661 audio recorder and the bulletproof, dynamic beyerdynamic me58 microphone. The temperature was 2 degrees farenheit.

Opening a frozen roof window covered with ice. After opening there is possible to hear noise from outside (birds and hum) and also some noises caused by holding a recorder. Recorded with sony pcm-d50, built in mics.
I was out on the marsh edge when i could hear a strange noise in the dark. It turned out to be ice breaking up in the tidal flow. A great test for the new pair of em172 mics. In the parabolic, olympus ls-5 recorder.
