McGarity (Command Sergeant Major) c. 2010. It is done bilingually, first in Spanish, then in English. The English translation appears to have been done in house by the Army, as I can find no evidence of any other usage. CSM Debra L. This was produced by tapping on a stethoscope which had an earbud pressed against a shure sm57 mic. Low pass filter applied, as well as compression and a gate. Chorus added. Used a recording cassette deck as a preamp going into an m-audio audiophile usb soundcard. Note: if you're having problems listening to this clip, the cutoff frequency of your speaker set may be too high(solution: new speakers). The signal strength exists almost entirely in the very low frequencies, so you may need a sub-woofer to hear it. Otherwise, try turning your speaker volume all the way up. Doing so may saturate the signal and at least allow you to hear the harmonics of the signal caused by the distortion. I don't recommend it, but you'll at least maybe be able to hear something.

This is a version of a previous file i created (https://freesound. Org/people/funwithsound/sounds/394897/)that includes a gong at the end to make it more dramatic. It would be really nice of you to credit the user "veiler" for their awesome gong sound, and maybe me for making the failure sound. But no obligations. :-). While perusing freesound for a nice and dramatic sound or two of failures, all the ones i've seen were pretty wimpy, so-to-speak. So i decided to create a few failure samples on a music-making program called musescore. These are for big whopper failures (or "epic failures") and are very dramatic - they may also be used for a scary event in a film or play. It includes a short buildup and a loud dissonant chord at the end to create suspense and horror. For this project i used violins, violas, cellos, double basses, timpani, cymbals and brass. Enjoy!.

Pistol fired outdoors with ricochet. Single shot, fairly close, with fast fadeout. Narrow stereo image, no panning, almost monophonic. Wholly synthesized. No weapon was fired in the making of this sound. It's an emulated sound effect of a sidearm gunshot with a cliche ricochet sound, like in the vintage western movies and ww2 films that they showed on tv when i was a kid. Can be used in a game, perhaps, or a none-too-serious vidclip. The sound of the pistol cartridge explosion is default flstudio kick, clap and snare slowed right down. A single tap of delay is added to lend an impression of echo off a middle distance hard surface. The ricochet noise was made with sytrus running as a vsti inside flstudio. It took an entire day of head scratching, oscillator tweaking and envelope mangling to get something that reasonably resembles a sound that i recall from the old movies. I think i'll shoot myself before i try something like this again. :). Plus the usual flstudio compressors, eq, reverb and delay - nothing tricky, just standard stuff.

It was time to mow the lawn, and it was a beautiful day for mowing. 80 degrees and sunny. Not much breeze at all. For the production: i took the zoom h1 out and set it by the porch about 2 feet up off the ground. Recorded at 96k 24bit. The low cut and agc were disabled. Once recorded, i finished it off with a small amount of airwindows "air" with the 22k tap opened all the way up. For the mower: i used a 21 inch 140 cc "550ex" series briggs & stratton gas walk behind push mower. When i finished mowing my yard, i approached the recorder up to about 2 feet, then i cut the engine. I start it again and let it idle in close proximity for about 8 seconds, still at a distance of about 2 feet, then cut the engine one last time. I'm sure this could potentially come in handy for those outdoor scenes where you could use some distant neighborhood activity or a close-up start/stop. Enjoy!.

A water faucet set to drip in a chaotic manner, without much regularity. I put a plastic container lid under that for sound to be more pronounced, but that added crunchiness and now it doesn’t resemble dripping as much. Recorded with redmi note 5 phone, denoised in audacity plus filtered bass out a bit. P. S. I need to say that i foolishly recorded it into an im app and the recording ended up as. This is the first recording in this pack from inside a traditional, working old dutch windmill, called de lelie - the lily - in the picturesque dutch village of eenrum. This mill was used to grind grain. There was a strong northwesterly breeze straight from te sea, so the sails of the windmill were in full swing, this morning on saturday may 14th. The dominant sound you hear is the sound of the so called “schuddebak”, litterally translated as “shaking bin”. This is a device in the form of a large wooden shovel which is tapping against the turning millstone in order to distribute the grain equally along the millstone. On the background you hear the millstone itself. On the second recording in this pack, the millers had detached the schuddebak, so the sound of the millstone is more dominant in that recording. This windmill is now a small museum. Admission is free, so everyone can admire this proud dutch windmill heritage which reclaimed half our country from the sea and gave us our daily bread. Patch walkthrough. The patch starts with the qu-bit chance providing discrete random values (sample and hold) going into an instruo harmonaig. This takes the stepped random voltages and quantizing them to a given scale. I put in the notes c d eb f g ab bb which is a c natural minor scale, the relative minor of eb major (for anyone that's curious). However like most of my modular work i didn't actually tune the oscillators to anything specific. So treat the scale as a pattern of intervals not a set of specific notes. The quantized notes then form 4 voice chords giving us a root, third, fifth and seventh cv output that will be diatonic following the scale pattern, meaning the third will be major or minor, the seventh major, minor or dominant and the fifth natural or diminshed to suit the scale. With the 4 quantized outputs on the harmonaig these all go into the four oscillators on the synthesis technology e370 quad morphing vco. Each of the e370 oscillators are in the basic morph xy mode using the built in rom b set of wavetables. Wavetables are modulating by various mixes of the befaco rampage, mutable instruments tides, wmd multimode envelopes and music thing modular turing machine. The modulation sources are mixed and split with multiples and mixers. These modulating wavetables then go into a bubblesound vca4p where i'm using 4 mk1 intellijel dixie oscillators all un-synced and free running with sine wave lfos. Each lfo freely fades the voice in and out of the vca4p. As this is unsynced there's no regard to pitch changes linked to changes in amplitude and the swells. I find splitting the gate/rhythm from pitch regarding sequencing to be a freeing and interesting way to work that's not available on traditional instruments. This is just a simple application of that idea with the lfos fading freely unrelated to the other modulation or sequencing of pitch. The sound then goes from the vca4p mix out into a befaco mixer and praxis snake charmer which the output section of the larger case and i'm sending a 'pre' auxiliary out into my fx case. The dry sound first goes into the erica synths fusion delay / flanger vintage ensemble which is giving me short modulated delays giving vibrato like sounds and pushing the input level and overdrive gives us some warmth and grit that thickens up the sound and also fills in the gaps left by the free running lfos pulling quieter sounds and compressing in the on board tube. This then outputs to the feedback 1 bit multitap delay module which has it's delay chip pushed to longer times for some added crackle and noise. I'm using the two delay taps for a shorter and longer delay with little feedback to mix the dry sound for a generally noisier and smeared version of the input. This then goes into the xaoc devices kamieniec with it's on board lfo as slow as possibly for a mildly resonant phase shifting. This goes into mutable instruments clouds set to sew random grains slowly and randomly which are pitch shifted up 2 octaves to fill out some high end flourishes against the closed chord voicings at the core of the patch. Finally this goes into a long lush reverb from the halls of valhalla card in the tiptop audio z-dsp. The stereo fx chain and the mono dry signal are mixed in the befaco hexmix and recorded as a mixed stereo file. I'd consider this to be the main 'reel'. However i split the dry signal and the fx only wet stereo signal and recorded those at the same time so you can choose which reel to use and experiment with dry/wet or blended sounds from this patch.
