Tabla is percussion instrument with two drums 'daya' and 'baya'. Only the 'daya' drum is usually tuned. For checking the tuning the 'na' bol is played. Recorded using samson-go portable condenser mike at home. Placing the mike too close to tabla was clipping the sound and if placed away, it was not picking the extended resonance. Hence the mike was moved closer after attack, hence the apparent increase in amplitude and some doppler effect is seen.

An oral rendition (konnakol) of mridangam solkattu. Comprises of a short theka in khanda nade (pentuple meter).

A short example of a short theka in adi taala (a cycle of 8 beats) on mridangam and konnakol (oral percussion). The mridangam strokes are played along with the corresponding solkattu (onomatopoeic syllables of the mridangam strokes) said aloud.
