January 30, 2014. A major ice storm moves in to the east coast of the united states. Sitting in a small cabin in the woods of north carolina, the sound of ice particles (sleet) hitting a stove-pipe can be heard. It's cold. It's bleak. The power has just cut off. Sitting on the floor with a zoom h4n, i recorded the soundscape. Enjoy!. - christopher c. Courter.

A recording of me walking through the snow which was fairly soft fluffy snow. There are also some places in the recording where i step on some brittle ice which crunches cracks louder.

Came upon a rock wall full of icicles in the forest, and recorded myself breaking them. One of my favorite sounds, so many rich tones and dramatic cymbals. Recorded in stereo 24 bit 96 khz with the internal mics on a sony m10 with windjammer. Please use this sound for whatever you want, completely free, no restrictions. My mother in the kitchen just around the corner from my closed bedroom door getting some ice from a square ice bucket in the freezer which is right at the entrance to the kitchen. You can hear them drop into her big glass and pop when they hit the water. I was recording out the window at the time. You can hear an american robin, red cardenal and mourning dove as well.

This is a funny recording of an ice-cream van outside my house. He parked in the middle of the road and you can hear other drivers beeping. He finally turns off the music and drives away.
