Recoding from my sony camcorder while holidaying in italy. The 7am and 7pm bells from the campanile (bell tower) in the medieval hilltop village of sorana, tuscany. Note at beginning the muffled sound of bells from nearby village and the odd ever present birds. I left these sounds in as they give a sense of place to the bells.

A rickenbacker 4003 playing a melodic lick. I played the bass connected directly to a motu 828mkii. I recorded using logic running under os x 10. 10 yosemite on a mac mini. I used fission to trim the beginning and ending and perform normalization. Note: this is a replacement for sound #328627 which i had mistakenly uploaded as a stereo file.

My vcr rewinding a vhs tape. Sounds pretty gnarly at the end. Recorded with a jm27 into my zoom h4n. As a side note, this sound was a real pain to record. Every time i set up the mic, it seemed like the ac would come on, the dog would bark, or some other sound would ruin the recording. Whatever, i got it done.

This carolina wren was braving a very cold, gusting cold front in early january. Recording made in a small midwestern town using my zoom h4-n recorder and its own internal microphones set at a record volume of 80. **note that since there were some strong north winds, you will hear the wind/roar in the background, but this wren just seemed oblivious to it. .

I tried to make a friction drum by stringing a med handglove membrane to a wooden mortar. That mostly failed; i couldn’t control the pitch and make continuous sound. Here the membrane is stroked by a wooden pestle, making quite annoying sounds. Recorded with redmi note 5 phone, denoised and filtered bogus sub bass in audacity.

Approaching army? rising nightmare?. Wrote/recorded an eerie nightmare approaching in the distance sound. The sound starts soft and builds to a crescendo. Ezdrummer2 was used w/ a low pass eq filter. Another very old production, i think this one's from around 2009 even!. Using the reverb of a chord i made on my guitar i created a drone-y, washed out sound. Added some subtle bitcrushed drums, cymbals and a vst synthesizer plays some notes to fill it out a bit, and a dark brooding bass-like instrument pulls up near the end of the track.
