This is almost the same kick drum i´ve uploaded previously, but this has more compression and overtones in the sub bass, along with an interesting technique i´ve been doing, lemme explain. . . I put the original sample twice in my daw (fl studio if you ask),leave the first sound like it is and the second sample is being equalized in a way that only the sub bass is being showed, so i added to that the saturation plugin ivgi2 from klangheim industries and slammed it with the plugin ott by xfer records about 9 times. Equalized the sound again to cut the sub bass and leave the raw high end sound you hear, finally added an izotope ozone imager to make it wider.

A slinky spring toy stretched out and plucked once from the end, recorded with a zeppelin design labs cortado impedance-matched piezo contact microphone. The resulting recording is a classic spring-based sci-fi "laser sound" with a massive, lengthy, rumbling decay tail. This was recorded at 24 bit 96 khz. In addition to its use as a sound effect, this waveform works well inside a convolution reverb as an offbeat spring reverb impulse response, provided one has the processor power and ram to support a 2 minute 13 second convolution. The cortado's bass response is exceptionally large for a contact mic, so high pass filtering may be desired if used as an impulse response.

I was fooling around with audacity and created this neat little sound. I have no clue how to lower the volume, and really, i mean it: this thing is loud. I keep my volume at 10% and i couldn't even listen to this thing with my headphones. I have tried to lower the volume (so that it doesn't hurt the ears) but to no avail. If you by chance know how (in audacity) then feel free to tell me in the comments and i'll re-upload a non-deafening version. If you use it i don't mind at all, though i am curious, if you do use it, what you'll use it for. Either way, i don't mind, but i'm curious by nature.

This is my first upload: a short walk between the stalls of the vismarkt in groningen, netherlands. Is was a splendid and sunny saturday morning, about 9. 30 am, may 7th 2016. In the first part of the recording, a garbage truck is already cleaning up. Fish crates are being piled up and money is exchanging hands. As the name of the market square suggests, the stalls are filled with fresh north sea and wadden sea fish. But i also passed stalls where cheese, meat and spices were sold. Business was thriving at the time of the recording. The groningen vismarkt is broadly recognized as one of the finest food markets in the country. I used an iphone with a zoom iq5. As said, this is my first recording, so please bear with me. . . I intend to learn.

Tiny waves lapping the quartzite pebbles (1-2cm diameter) on a beach at lake pedder. Recorded 21 march 2019, 3am, with marantz pmd661 and rode nt55. Exceptionally quiet night, no wind, no other sounds. The gordon river power station was 20 kms distant. Other mechanical equipment or vehicles greater then 50 kms. I could just perceive the electrical hum from the station (or from transmission lines), and so could my partner, but i can’t hear it on the recording. At 1. 30 on the recording you can hear my partner’s soft cough coming from our tent 50m away. I was surprised this still worked. This is an old ibm selectric ii typewriter, with correcting tape, the “quieter” selectric at the time. It’s about 80 pounds, a real back-breaker. The carriage return bell is broken, unfortunately, so the best you might hear it is rattling due to the belt vibration. Recorded with a tascam dr-05, without the low-cut since i wanted a beefy sound. Placed direcly above the roller, about 12 inches away. I swapped the channels in audacity to match perception & sampled down to 48khz. Wind can sometimes play havoc with recording --- but, with some luck you can get good wind recordings. Here is a recording of lake waves lapping at the short of a small lake in southern illinois. This particular day, the winds were blowing steady out of the south at 25 miles an hour, with gusts even higher. Recording made with my trusted zoom h4n recorder, using its built-in microphones. Of course a foam wind-screen made this recording listenable. Without the foam wind-screen the recording would simply have been an obnoxious, unintelligable roar!also, since the waves were so loud to begin with, i did not have to crank the recording gain real high -- i had the gain only on 65 for this recording. .

I found this fairly small low area, in deep woods, with about 5 inches of water in it. I wouldn't really say it is a pond because it will probably be dry in a month or so after the spring rains. (i think ecologists would call this small body of water an "ephemeral" pond). These spring peepers were putting on quite a chorus as the sun was going down. You'll hear a different sounding frog - or peeper - several times in: at 9 seconds in, 13 seconds in and 15 seconds in. When i first heard it, it sounded like a creaky door! hope you find this fascinating and enjoyable as well. Would make a great soundtrack for a swampy piece. Recorded using my trusty rode ntg-2 going into a zoom h4n recorder.

Idea for a base for a radio bumper. I found another track in which someone had said, "du bist der hörer. Wir sind das radio. " so i recorded myself repeating these sentences, which translate from german into english as, "you are the listener. We are the radio. " i also overlaid it over a track of generated sine waves, one in each channel (l-r), chosen to be discordant (like a radioactive effect). Sine waves are 10. 5 seconds, i left 4. 5 seconds at the end to overlay your content (maybe an ident or whatever). Have fun!. Do you ever go on the internet on your phone and discover a page that tells you that your iphone is infected with some virus even though it's a scam? sometimes it could either be clicking on an ad or your phone being redirected to some website. Well, last time i got a message like that, i'll put it in there either voice text to speech app for your phone. Are used to paul voice, so it would sound like the critical alert from microsoft error again. This could also be a prank to anyone who hasn't seen this. This time i used narrators voice to copy and paste the text that i got. You can download narrators voice on your phone or ipad or ipod touch.

Xy stereo recording from gärdet subway station in stockholm. This focuses on an older trains doors, various steams and similar "heavy" sound elements. In post: edited in pro tools with som bass cutting (eq) and automation to make some sounds stand out but still sound realistic. Put on a light compressor and pich-shifted down some elements to give more depth. This was in someway inspired by "dead space" tram and door sounds but slightly less "massive" and haunting. Ps. There's 2 versions of this recording. The one with "nr" in the title is noise reduced so sounds like the doors and steam are somewhat separated from the background. Hope you like it.

A field recording of small waves crashing on a sandy shore. Part of the recording includes the waves splashing against a wooden structure. The waves come a fast, regular intervals; this isn't the slow rolling crash of a barrel wave on the beach. There was a bit of wind (generating the waves) which i've did my best to minimize, but if you don't want wind in the recording you're going to need to edit around it. Always curious to see where these recordings wind up, so if you use it drop me a link in the comments if you think about it.

If you stand just underneath a commercial airplane as it's coming in to land (as was the case here at dfw airport) and so long as there's not a lot of noise around you (like loud traffic, etc. ) then when the jet passes overhead, what you can't see is that at the tips of the wings are rapidly spinning vortices of air that coil off the wingtips as the plane passes through air. These long, coiling spirals of air will eventually "close" and as that happens, it creates a momentary but bizarre, surreal sound that you really need to hear for yourself in person to get the full effect. This was the best i could capture on august 15th, 2022. Enjoy!.

Recording of a door being opened and closed, and then opened and closed again. Very slight footsteps (on carpet) can be heard. The microphone (sennheiser mkh-50) was intentionally placed about 5 feet away from the door and aimed slightly off-axis so as to capture more of the natural room sound/reverb. I have another recording available of the exact same door and mic setup, but aimed on-axis for a more direct recording (it still has a slight bit of room sound - that was what i wanted for these two recordings). Recorded into a tascam 208i audio interface and into adobe audition. Very minor processing (low-cut at 80hz to remove low-freq rumble).

My iphone died, but not completely. The screen was cracked, the battery was failing and it was difficult to make contact in the worn charging socket to charge it. It reset itself frequently and never stayed on in any temperature below 65 degrees f. So i downloaded my data and activated a new phone, but lo and behold, i couldn't turn off the old one. I would have to wait for the battery to run down. For once, the battery lasted. Two days later i listened to the alarm go off for ten minutes. My arms were full of laundry, and suddenly my backup alarm started blaring, loaded with an obnoxious ringtone. My back porch is concrete. My 16-ounce claw hammer was handy.

It's a recording of a man operating a chainsaw in a forest near an underground repair station. I've been biking through the forest whe i heard the chainsaw, so i stopped and recorded 7 minutes of him cutting off branches, tembers and walking around a bit. You can heat the chainsaw, natural forest reverb, sometimes a plane flying by or an undergroud train. The recording was made from around 20~30 meters from the sound source. Recorded with a zoom h2 (rear mics, hi gain, 96/24). Originally a 96khz / 24-bit wav file. Converted to flac using audacity.

Recording was taken in the night from 22. 04. 2000 to 23. 04. 2000 in the so called 'leine masch' what is a floodplain of our river called leine. I was on the way back from our easterfire, an old german tradition in the night before easter sunday. Similar to the bonfire in august in britain. I heard the nightingale singing, went at home took my sennhiser me80 with the windshield basket and recorder zoom h4. I returned to the place i heard the nightingale and the bird was still singing. On the recording you can hear the ambient of chemical factory of honywell seelze, a street with cars sometimes, a second nightingale far away answering our nightingale near by. And some frogs. At the beginning of the recording there is also some handgrabbing noise, later i fixed the mic on the saddle of my bike and there is no longer the handgrabbing. Enjoy the beautyful singing, cheers.

A close up recording of an overheating usb slot-loading cd/dvd drive that repeatedly tries to spin up, but fails and makes some clicking noises. Note on low frequency sounds: i recorded this with a zoom h1n recorder at about 2cm distance from the drive slot. I held the recorder in my hand and rested my hand on the surface the cd drive was resting on, so there is somewhat of a mechanical connection between the drive's vibrations and the recorder. I believe this led to the low frequency parts of the recording. About halfway through the recording, i lifted the drive up with my other hand and held it at a 30degree angle to the surface and recorder. As you can hear in the recording, this made it spin up a little longer before failing and spinning back down.

Boring sound. . . Neuron patch (?). . . Inspired by nlc squid axon (i have saved some hp for that one!) i have patched up a simple 2 stage asr with 2 s/h. Most of the time it plays its atonal melody, but when the patch is stimulated (by a sloth lfo) feedback opens up. I can adjust the sensitivity in different ways (so i can simulate the intake of drugs. . . ). The sound from the oscs goes though vcfs with some resonance. The vcfs are controlled by the same sloth lfo. My neuron patch. . . No hands during recording. My favourite part is when nothing happens - for almost 1 min?! but you can hear the filter working via the vcfs. The cv must be in some strange area.

I'm at the corner of 5th and kansas not far from kair 93. 7fm studios. This sound starts with the band from part1 departing and a truck passing. Children talk and yell and a man yells something. Another band approaches. A woman seems to tell someone to say cheese in the distance. The file ends when the band gets a bit too loud for my microphone. Recorded with goldwave with an asus laptop in my backpack and a microsoft lifecam3000 poking out of it facing behind me clothes-pinned to one of the handles of the pack. Unfortunately microsoft no longer supports their lifecam apps so it's not possible to turn down the internal mic gain.

I tried to get a surround recording using mics, but there was a horrible street musician playing off in the distance. I thought it wouldn't be clear in the recording, but one of the mics picked him up quite well. The recording was ruined, so i did a little processing at home and came up with this freaky bit for your listening pleasure. Not sure if it's usable beyond listening, tho. . .
