Getting in, starting, and driving my 2011 peugeot ion electric car. The door opens, i put on my seat belt, insert the key, start the vehicle (there's the ready-to-drive beep), i put the car in drive, release the parking brake, and drive away. This was recorded with a tascam dr-05 settings 48/16 file rendered out in exact same settings. This was recorded just as it was getting light before sunrise. Nature at its best. Location in south georgia. Nature, birds, and cicadas.

It's fun to patch up a kind of analog shift register (3 stages). Doepfer a-160 controls the stages. On a-160 i use /2, /4 and /8. I sample slewed noise. No quantizer.

A large (12 person) elevator located in an apartment building that was built as a hotel for the 1972 olympic games in munich, germany. There are four of these in the building, and they all rattle like nobody's business. In this recording, a part of the elevator arrival chime that plays on the ground floor can be heard in the beginning. Then, i walk into the elevator (two clicks in the recording here) and the doors close. Then it travels up 12 floors and the doors open with a very concerning metal rubbing sound.
