A neighbor of mine might have just peed in his pants if he couldn't shoot off his illegal commercial fireworks before the fourth. So, july first, his manly outpouring of window-rattling bomb blasts echoed across an entire valley. For nearly two hours. I like fireworks. When i go to see 'em. Not so much when i can't get away from them. Sure, i could have gone shopping, or out for a drink. I recorded it instead. This particular explosion is just the largest of those that came after i started recording. It's just a lowly iphone but it does pretty well. Admittedly, even with no amplification it might have been too much for the microphone. You have the clear launch sound followed by burst and echo. The same blast kicks off the other fireworks file i am uploading.

I was looking for a smoke machine blast and a c02 gun blast for an after-movie sound design, but i couldn't find a proper sound on the internet, so with my sound design knowledge, i tried to replicate those noisemakers. Recorded from a balcony with 3dio professional binaural microphone in to an olympus ls-14 recorder. The microphone picked up a small cessna airplane that you can hear in the middle of the recording. The microphone did also pick up the whistle of a person. Both at the start (aprox 20 min in) and at the finish of the recording. I´m am very pleased with this recording.

A quick piece i made using various effects, to give the impression of a factory accident in which a fire/explosion occurs, and steam vents and opened etc. Attribution information:. I'm afraid i threw that together 7 years ago when i would have been 14 years old. I can't really remember whether i used any other sounds to make it, or if i generated it (and definitely can't remember who needs attributed if soundswere used). If you recognise any of your work in this - just give me a shout/report it; i've got no problem removing this, as i said; did it a long time ago and forgot i'd even made it. Recording a air gas canister.

This is a short sound clip i created in audacity. The first half second is a brief fire effect, then is followed by a sudden explosion. The rest of it is blows of wind, and crackling fire.

Another explosion i made using wavepad sound editor. This time i used compressed, muffled, and pitched down beer hiss (i used lots of beers and amplified them) and a few small metal parts and rocks. For the first part of the sound, the "bam" it does was mixed beer hiss and a punch i performed on some meat. The rest is just rocks and small metal parts, distorted, softened plus reverb. I used a shure beta 58a microphone to record all those.
