Something i threw together for a personal project i was working on. I couldn't find any high quality samples of a dragon so i decided to make my own. This was created using ableton and contains the following sounds:a dog growlinga lion roara horse gruntingan elephant vocalisinga flamethrower sound. All sounds used were obtained from royalty free websites and manipulated using software so that the original samples are not identifiable. The combining, layering and processing of the sounds were all done by myself within my daw. I hope those of you who find this are able to make great use of it. About 15 different fire engines, police cars and ambulances blaring their sirens in a parking lot at the same time.

Fireworks going off in the street. Recorded with a sony icd-px312 in a village in palestine.

A plastic bag, paper wrapper and other materials were recorded individually being rubbed. I then layered them in audacity to be played over each other. From the resulting layered sound i generated this 10 second loop. Sounds like a mellow rain upon the ground or a slow crackling fire. Recorded using a blue yeti microphone at 16-bit 44100hz in audacity. Attribution appreciated but not required.

I recorded a crisps bag but it sounds like a number of things.

Town fireworks display, including grand finale, recorded in large parking lot of a municipal park very close to where the fireworks were set off. There is quite a bit of natural reverb throughout, and some nice applause from the crowd afterwards.

It's an unedited recording of me lighting some matches in a quiet room. You can hear the sounds of matchbox's geting open, closed, the match being rubbed against the side of the box, matches catching fire and burning, finnally getting extinguished by waving. This recording could use some highpass filtering to make it sound less in-your-face. Recorded with a zoom h2. Originally 96khz/24-bit wav, examined and converted to flac using audacity.

This is a quick fire sound i made using qubodup's "swing 25" public domain/cc0 upload on this site. It's a bamboo stick swinging, which i layered and toyed with to get the results here. For those curious, here are the steps. * i took the file into reaper, and slowed the file's playback rate to 31% of the original. * i then duplicated the file three times, for a total of 4 tracks. * track 1 (lowish gas-burner sound):- reverb (drum-room impulse response, a medium-sounding reverb with a slight deadness to it. In free impulse loader reverberate le, stretched impulse to 150% and set attack time to 0. 218s). - eq (-8db bandpass near 200hz, rising back to 0 by the 1k mark. Low-pass applied at 5. 8khz). * track 2 (lowest of sounds, like a bassy gas-burner):- chorus effect. That's it. (specifically acon digital multiply, a free plugin, set to the "romantic" preset). * track 3 (not as low as track 2, but closer to track 2 than 1)- reverb (a large hall impulse response. No adjustments, ie. No increased attack or stretching like for track 1. ). -chorus doubler (free plugin duet, preset: "basic doubler. " same effect as if i had doubled the track and pitched one up 6 cents. ). - chorus (free plugin acon digital multiply, preset: "romantic. "). * track 4 (most flame-thrower, whooshy of tracks. )- reverb (impulse response says "hall medium," but it's a thick, even echo from start to finish. Makes the sound go from its default "whoosh" to a flamethrower noise. - chorus doubler (duet again, preset: basic doubler). - chorus (acon digital multiply, preset: "romantic. "). Master bus:. - compressor (tdr kotelnikov mastering compressor, the free successor to the tdr feedback compressor ii. Preset: punchy. Thresh: -20. 9, soft knee: -1. 5, ratio: 2:0:1, attack: 7. 0 ms, release peak: 70 ms, release rms: 165 ms, makeup: 1. 5 db, output: 2. 0 db. That's it.

Fourth of july in the highland park neighborhood, los angeles, ca, usa. This is general ambience taken from a hill overlooking york blvd. The whole area takes on a constant booming quality along with the more identifiable explosions. Recorded with a twirling 720, converted with fb360 spatial audio software.
