El furruco o furro es un tambor con cuero y una varilla, suele utilizarse en la música tradicional navideña, así como en la gaita zuliana y los aguinaldos. Tambien se utiliza, en algunos pueblos, en la parranda. Está constituido por una caja de madera, cilíndrica y ligeramente cónica, está cubierta por una membrana de cuero seco, vibrante. Fijada al tambor con tirantes metálicos, de modo de poder templarla de acuerdo a las necesidades y gusto del intérprete. This is a combination of a bunch of sounds to create a very close feeling digging and tearing through earth sound. Thick roots being torn, low rumble, a lot of layers. Used for a video of hands moving through dirt, digging, forming, etc.

Recorded in a studio with an akg 414 condensor microphone set to cardioid polar pattern. Placed close to the cymbal.
