A punch knockout sound.

Sample of a metallic percussion hit. The sound is quite dark and muffled. I call it underwater drum, because it sounds to me like it's underwater. This sample is tuned to a1 but there is a very dominant overtone at b1, which is the musical interval of a minor second. The source of the sample was the platter of a dismantled hard disk drive, hit with a wooden mallet. It was then pitched down a lot. The sample is almost raw, i just added some slight eq. The sample was intended to be used with a sampler, you may want to add some reverb for this and filter the previously mentioned overtone, when you use it in combination with other tuned instruments. Also, the pitch is probably not perfectly tuned. Microphone: akq perception 120post-processing: pitch manipulation & eq.

Recording of knocking on three kinds of glass for effect of tapping on window (recorded as foley for characters tapping on viewer's screen from the inside). First is damped thick glass, second is undamped thick glass, third is double-glazed window pane. Knocks separated to allow reverb and dynamics to damp down between them, background noise lightly cleaned.

To make these sounds, i hit my knuckles onto a thin sheet of metal on a bookshelf. The last sound on the recording was also made by dropping a coin onto the same spot on the shelf. If you use this in a project that gets released online or elsewhere, please comment and let me know about it! :).

The sound of me hitting my hand against a padded mouse pad and moving it around on the surface a couple times. //used this for a short animated film where a girl reaches up and hits a table and moves her hand around a table looking for something. Made from a tom drum i created with xfer serum in reaper. Rendered the instrument as audio, then, sampled a small section of the tom and looped it infinitely to create a static frequency. Then i added the reapitch vst and created a smooth automation curve down to -24 semitones. Lastly, i added a short fade in and long fade out.
