Night air in upstate new york with no insects - midsummer.

Light rain recorded on my zoom h5 in my backyard.

These were recorded may 26 2007, about two weeks after the first spring peepers (pseudacris crucifer) were heard in the area. A dog in a distant garden can be heard barking a couple of times in this recording, but if anyone needs a clean recording i can probably find another, similar-length section of the original without extraneous sound. Or it could probably be edited out without too much trouble.

This ambience was recorded on zoom h6 with msh-6 mid-side stereo mic capsule. Recording was edited and decoded. Mic was positioned right in a frame of an open window so that it won't get flood from a heavy rain and pick up much room reflections. My flat where i recorded from was on 4th floor. There was a busy street 50m far from the apartment building itself, a bit further there was a park. Rain at that night was heavy. Also you can hear several heavy thunder hits of various distance throughout the whole recording. Hope this recording will help to enhance the sound of your next project. Unexpected surly neighbor shouting while recording night time ambience of my neightborhood on a windy fall night. Possibly strong language for some. But could be an interesting/amusing exterior ambience to layer into a sound design. You never know.
