I've begun to notice how peaky the akgs can up around 5k-10k. What do you think?.

Percussion made in blok modular. Kind of morphs around but plenty of bongos and some kind of shaker towards the end. You can maybe get a couple of claps out of the end part too. Sometimes sounds a little too fm-y (think sega genesis sounds) but others sound pretty organic imo.

The sound of barking geckos (ptenopus garrulus) recorded in the desert at sesriem, near sossusvlei, namibia. At sunset, the geckos all around us started "barking". It's really more of a chirping sound, made by the males, hiding in their burrows but hoping to attract mates. Recorded with tascam dr2d. .

It's a recording of a man operating a chainsaw in a forest near an underground repair station. I've been biking through the forest whe i heard the chainsaw, so i stopped and recorded 7 minutes of him cutting off branches, tembers and walking around a bit. You can heat the chainsaw, natural forest reverb, sometimes a plane flying by or an undergroud train. The recording was made from around 20~30 meters from the sound source. Recorded with a zoom h2 (rear mics, hi gain, 96/24). Originally a 96khz / 24-bit wav file. Converted to flac using audacity.

A nice ambient recording made on sunday morning may 5th 2013 around 6:30 in the morning in the shawnee national forest in deep southern illinois. I had originally wanted to get good, clear recordings of the tremendous numbers of warblers that are here, but a good, soaking steady light rain decided to stick around. The beach at aldeburgh is made of pebbles so you can hear little of that as i walk around. You can the crashing of the waves against the pebbles and that fizzing noise as the sound dies down and the water recedes from the beach. This was recorded using a zoom h2n in 16-bit. Wav format.

Striking a silver goblet then making it sing by rolling a wooden dowel around its edge. The first part is the top of the goblet (lower pitch) and the 2nd part is the bottom base (higher pitch). Followed by various strikes and rolls. Microphone: iphone 3g.

Strange sound can be heard from time to time in pécel, hungary especially when warm front appears. You can hear it in the beginning, calms than gets louder again at around 0:45 and fades out after 2:00. Sometimes become louder and calmer. I do not know what it is.
