I recorded a noise i can make with my mouth.

Frequent tube riders may be familiar with the hum that happens between two stops, (i can't remember which two. ) for a moment, it gets a little too loud and freaks you out (around the 1:40 mark). The rest is just tube ambience. Recorded in stereo on a zoom h4n.

I noticed there were no dry ice on oven rack sounds here so here is a recording of dry ice interacting with a steel oven rack. As the dry ice melts it creates vibrations on the metal that evolve as the material travels across the surface. It is an awful sound resembling a combination of saxophone, violin, bagpipe and screaming (any species). This was recorded on halloween 2018. It was a tradition in my family when i was a kid to get some dry ice on halloween and fill beakers with colored water to surround the candy display. The addition of dry ice on oven rack sound effects developed later and truly scared a lot of kids because it is so loud and terrible. These days we make some dry ice kief as well which makes the holiday even more festive and weird.

Around 2010, i circuit-bent a motorola cellphone and added a control surface to control the bends. Then i added an atari paddlewheel so its big potentiometer could be used to do pitchbends, and the result is an instrument i called the "sonic electronic ball breaker". It's got knives, quarterstaves, thor's lightning, sharp sticks, nuclear machineshotguns, and even some claws that come out to jab 'em. In this sample i'm going through and playing with the controls to see what i get. These sounds are pretty abrasive, but they work well when run through a bunch of effects.

A retro-style dramatic sound effect for when something important happens in a game, animation, video, video blog, etc. Or it could work for other purposes, as well - just be creative!. I recorded my dog lying next to me, relaxing and yawning a few times. Recorded with a sony ic recorder, cleaned up using edison in fl studio. I had the recorder very close to his mouth and i also used a limiter to increase the volume. However, i couldn't get rid of the background noise without making the breathing sound awful.

A very random jazzy little piece performed rather poorly by yours truly on my accordion. Recorded using my laptop's internal microphone, which is about the furthest from professional you can possibly get. Feel free to use this in whatever project you want, though i cannot imagine why you would choose to do so.

I recorded my voice while playing freelance horror games; scp-087-b and slender sanatorium. This was so i could get genuine reactions to use as stock voice clips for future use. Some pretty interesting stuff came out. This happened after my "murder scream. " it was so loud and terrifying that i laughed in a way that said, "oh crap that was awful!".

This is (roughly) what in-train announcements in germany sound like! i recorded myself with an iphone 6, then added an eq- and a distort-effect in audition, to really capture the awful microphones used in the trains. Whenever i use my usb stick, my computer always makes an awful noise. I decided to record it and see if any of you guys can make anything out of it. To me it sounds like some sort of aliens or robots talking to each other. The only editing done was noise removal to get rid of the fuzziness and amplification to make it a little bit louder. Let me know in the comments if you use it.

Recording is a 24 bit stereo wav file. Literally using a "motivational speaker" tape found in a box (full of several more of these god awful things!) while digging through the neighborhood trash to test out and setup a pitch-shifted vocal patch for my noisecore project. Effects used: danelectro fish & chips eq, korg ax3g multi-effect, and alesis nanoverb direct to sound card. Processed in goldwave(compression to reduce peaks and fading on the beginning/end. ).

Conveniently, the soundtrack of this little beauty was dual mono with one track for dialog and one track for this fantastically awful score. I simply cut up the track into individual cues. I found this old c-60 cassette labelled "xx" in a local thrift store. (i like to collect found sound recordings-- sometimes there's some pretty weird stuff!) well, it turns out i found some guy's old tape recording involving him having sex while blasting some awful anne murray cover album. . . The recording is the post-sex dialogue, right after that final song fades out. . . At the end, the woman asks something like "are you going to get your tape recorder?" and the guy seems to become flustered, saying something like "i wasn't recording, it's off!" (i'm paraphrasing. ) i guess he thought she realised he was recording it or something. Anyways, after this, the recording is cut off. You can also hear a toilet flush, and some sort of "squeaky toy" noise during the recording. Recorded direct to soundcard, playing back the tape on a cheap hand-held cassette player. Edited w/ compression to reduce peaking.
