I've recorded this oriental magpie robin in the philippines in a small province on the side of taal lake. Its melody is really cool ! the file was cleaned a little bit. I denoised it and got rid of some unecessary frequencies from the surrounding jungle.

This mockingbird comes every spring to a tree outside my window in jackson heights, ny--a bustling part of queens. It could use some noise reduction, but its not bad and there's a lot of variety. This guys really goes to town with a hundred variations of chirps.

At first you can hear the ambience of a village (middle of june) with distant car road. Than a group of starlings arrive and eat cherries from a tree. At about 7'15" they suddenly depart. There is again some ambience after they have flown away.

A mockingbird going through its repertoire on a slow downtown morning. The background hum is probably large air conditioning units or perhaps a generator in the distance at a construction site. A car passes midway through the recording, approaching from behind so the stereo effect is almost nonexistent.

This wood thrush was recorded around 7:30 in the morning in heavy woods in deep southern illinois. Unlike my earlier posting of the wood thrush singing at dusk, this morning recording has the wood thrush singing with lots of company, although he clearly rises above his neighbors. 17 seconds into the recording you hear the drumming of a woodpecker, and at one-minute 20 seconds into the recording you hear the distinctive-lonely sounding call of the huge pileated woodpecker. Recording made with good-quality stereo microphones so use headphones to get a wonderful experience.

Ou can hear the audible sounds of an airplane flying above my house going west towards the beach, the airplane getting closer and closer to my house then flying away aggressively. You can hear the graceful chirping of birds, sitting on the telephone line north of my house. You can hear the swift movement of the wind moving around and blowing on the leaves of the tree west of my house in the neighbor’s yard. You can hear the movement of me walking around back and forth in my yard listening to all the sounds trying to hear them clearly. You can hear a car drive down my street going east, the car was very heavy and going very slow.

A summer morning field recording at newport lakes reserve, a former bluestone quarry and rubbish tip in the western melbourne suburb of newport. The area is now a vast suburban park with a native nursery and twin human-made lakes, popular with many species of birds and people. This recording was made using a sony pcm-m10 recorder's built-in omnidirectional stereo microphones. It was taken on january 15 2011 at 8. 30am, on unceded boon wurrung land, part of the eastern kulin nations. Early morning on the dock of a minnesota lake. Sound of water underneath the dock and purple martins chirping. There is a sudden motorboat engine at after a few minutes, but it quickly dies away. There is also the sound of a giant snapping turtle banging against the dock. At the end of the recording there are some wind and microphone sounds.

All week, flocks of corellas (a type of white cockatoo found in australia) were filling the air and so was their screeching sound. They would frequently perch in trees and take off again, making everyone in the neighbourhood look outside their windows.

The word society repeated with various modifiers, such as "flat society, white society, stoic society" and ending with "and piety in the nude. " done in a i'm-reading-a-serious-poem voice. A few bird chirps sneak into the background from outside.

This was my first attempt at recording ambiance. There's some pops from the microphone, but i thought some parts could be still usable. Recording at 44. 1 khz/ 16 bits. No process applied.
