The forest that these birds sang in, is now gone. People decided to blast it away in favor of unappealing buildings. . . And it's almost too heart breaking for me to listen to. I loved that little green spot.
These birds are very rare and, in my country, are normally only found in the eastern highlands. For some some reason this little specimen popped up in our garden in the suburbs of harare. Recorded on a zoom h4n.

Ash the budgie chirping quietly to his flock mates. They are entirely uninterested in his antics so mostly it's just ash, but occasionally the others chime in. Sometimes they take off flying and land again because ash likes getting in their faces and generally being a nuisance.
This mockingbird comes every spring to a tree outside my window in jackson heights, ny--a bustling part of queens. It could use some noise reduction, but its not bad and there's a lot of variety. This guys really goes to town with a hundred variations of chirps.

Three whip-poor-wills declaring their territories, north, east and west, on a sultry calm evening with early fireflies. The other higher-pitched sound is a tree frog. As a courtesy if you download my sounds please subscribe to my youtube channel: https://www. Youtube. Com/user/mycompasstv thanks!.

This carolina wren was braving a very cold, gusting cold front in early january. Recording made in a small midwestern town using my zoom h4-n recorder and its own internal microphones set at a record volume of 80. **note that since there were some strong north winds, you will hear the wind/roar in the background, but this wren just seemed oblivious to it. .
This is a recording (made with an iphone) of a bird with a cool call. I have no idea what bird it is. . . I'm not an expert on those things. Xd. The cool call starts a few seconds in. :). There is a little background noise (someone digging with a shovel and some wind). Feel free to use this sound however you wish. . . No attribution required, though i'd appreciate it if you did! :). Comments are always appreciated! :).

Patch on a large modular analog synth, mainly doepfer but with some sputnik and intellijel modules. Sounds very arp 2600-ish, a soundcape reminiscent of birdsong and tweets. Mainly tuned filters seeded with pink noise.
