Recorded using tascam dr-40 and pair of behringer c2 mics c. 10am, sunday march 19, 2017. Location: robin hood way (byway), manor hills - c. 2km south of urban edge worksop, nottinghamshire. Mixed scots pine & larch plantation with beech trees adjacent to trackway. Dry with light breeze. The murmur of the wind in the pines runs through out this recording - ebbing and flowing with the breeze. There is much woodland birdsong. Some other noises of human making can also be hear and interrupt the otherwise peaceful rural ambience. I was wearing a flat cap so the sheep thought i was the farmer and raced down the hill towards me, expecting to be fed. They were disappointed. It was early may and the air was still and clear. You can make out the echoes from the steep hill behind them.
