I captured this excited pileated woodpecker on the edge of some deep woods, on a hot dusk in august 2010. It was about 7:30 on a calm night at the edge of the shawnee national forest. The tempurature was 85 degrees. What i find really enjoyable though is the rising, and ebbing and flowing of, i believe the typical summer cicadas. Recorded at home on a rode nta1 mic using adobe audition cs6 on a pc. The voice is my own, the only edit was a cleaning of bg noise on the record and a trim to remove extraneous sound.

During this recording at a small pond with frogs a dog comes closer and barks. The frogs in the pond start to warn each others. They are getting crazy for a short time, then they calm down again. Once in a while you can here the neighbour's kids laughing or yelling. Almoste unhearable there may be an adult's voice or someone speaking on a television and some unspecific sounds coming from one of the flats. Plus one or two bird's singing can be heard from the trees nearby. It's juli 2021.

The phone was put directly to the window pointing the mic outside the window. This is my first try to share some sound, hope you like it. I have 2 more and better rain sounds to come.
