Yes, it required quite a lot of work to record so much talking in quality! it's almost an entire audiobook squeezed into 5 minutes. Strangely (or not) listening to this makes my mind rest, because the noise blocks all other sounds from the environment - making my mind free of stimulation, allowing for sleep-like rest state. The signal is so much modulated that it appears to be not modulated at all - like static you get from a fm radio of you tune it wrong. The brain receives less data when you listen to this, than when you sit in a room hearing even faint (but distinct) noises from outside, other rooms, other people or yourself. Fireworks- recording fireworks is really strange. There are two distinct things going on with fireworks- the sound of the explosion, and the powerful physical impact our bodies feel when all that sound energy reaches us. Thing is, the mics don’t have any way of capturing that physical impact; they can only record the pop sound of the initial explosion. So what ends up on tape? honestly, it doesn’t sound much different than popping popcorn in your kitchen. This ambience was recorded on zoom h6 with msh-6 mid-side stereo mic capsule. Recording was edited and decoded. Mic was positioned right in a frame of an open window so that it won't get flood from a heavy rain and pick up much room reflections. My flat where i recorded from was on 4th floor. There was a busy street 50m far from the apartment building itself, a bit further there was a park. Rain at that night was heavy. Also you can hear several heavy thunder hits of various distance throughout the whole recording. Hope this recording will help to enhance the sound of your next project. A stark soundscape of the icy wind swooshing through dry oak leaves on the edge of a midwestern lake. Plus, as an added bonus, from out of nowhere two fast-moving canada geese come storming through at only about 25 feet from where i was standing!. I was very lucky because they are so close that at some point during this recording, you can actually hear the sound of the wind being pummeled by the beating of the geese's very large, strong wings. Just having some fun with the 6 inches of snow that we received. The first part of this is me walking/breaking some ice that had formed in a low area and then me walking on snow, which has a frosty glaze on top of it. Recorded with the handy/zoom h-4n recorder using its built-in microphones. The built-in microphones can be adjusted to pick up sound from 90 degrees around the microphones to 180 degrees. For this recording, i had them on 180 degrees. *note, you will also -- if you listen carefully -- hear a male robin singing in a tree. Pretty unique combination - the snow and ice being crunched with the typical sound of spring in background. He must have been one tough bird!.

This is the ambience i created for my sci-fi sitcom accidentally reckless of a dropship of some kind approaching a battlefield (and certain death). The bare bones was created from a field recording of the x-1 bus going down attercliffe road towards sheffield city centre, during a period in 2017 when they were constantly resurfacing the stretch that goes past the swingers club, resulting in the bone shaking rattling sounds you can hear. I then layered on some laser and rocket noises (already uploaded) and some engine type sound effects and shuttle flypast effects that i don't think i've uploaded yet. My first upload to freesound is a thunderstorm recorded in gateshead, uk, next to our open bathroom window. Some lovely thunderclaps and rain. Recorded on a zoom h5. There are also some household sounds swimming around in the background, doors closing, dishes clinking etc; i think you can hear the radio or something very faintly towards the end -- but there's plenty of clean usable thunder and rain in there. Incidentally i often use this type of thing in my long-form instrumental music, produced under the name conelrad.
