My daughter made an instrument some years ago. She took a small cardboard box and fixed some rubberbands with scotch on it, and this is how it sounded. She called it spelatronics. It no longer exists, unfortunately. But it can be remade.

My girlfriend's 4 year old daughter was playing a game on the computer when a woman's voice began giving directions on how to play. This is a recording of the raging battle that ensued. I used my olympus ws-310m for this recording.

I found two melodies in gis_sweden's excellent "you deserve it - friday randomness ii"http://freesound. Org/people/gis_sweden/sounds/362508/. And quantized them into a 92 bpm 4/4 thing. Each melody is presented panned, with and without a beat, then simultaneously. It's sort of an accidental counterpoint. I also messed up his nice analog sound into some harsh digital junk. There's a lot of high frequency energy here so watch it, and apologies to mr. Fletcher, mr. Munson and their daughter, curve.

4ch-surround, close range field recording of the street outside a friend's house during new year's eve. About a minute into the recording, a rocket is shot off in the near field. Recorded on jan 1st, 2014 at 12:00 am with a zoom h2. These are the rear channels, mics set to 120° dispersion.

Over 4 minutes of continuous angry cat sounds, including growling, hissing, and a couple of snorts. Our cat is being handled very gently by my daughter, and as predicted, she expresses her displeasure with sitting on top of my daughter's lap - even when being rubbed. If you would like to see the youtube video of the sound, it can be found at https://www. Youtube. Com/watch?v=lqqns3hgs80 and if you would like similar sounds, or would like to make a request for anything else, let me know, and i'll see what i can do. If you use the sound, please be so kind as to send me a link of how it was used. I would love to see it.
