Recorded around the plantation fields of kompolt (hungary), near the plant research institute. There are long dirt roads around the area, it's a big open place, so whatever wind, breeze comes barely anything could block it. That's why sometimes the recording's quality gets bad at places. Sounds: walking on dry, solid dirt, rocky-dirt, dry grass, walking through bushy areas, concrete at the end.

Small rocks tumbling down a steep hill. We got in the van and drove down a rural road. On the side of that road, we found land with its topsoil removed, stripped also of its plants, but there were lots of rocks and a small cliff where rocks could tumble down. The location where this audio was recorded in arkansas is shown in a video of our family adventure. We found where whittington creek enters a man-made underground tunnel in the city of hot springs. Recorder was just a couple of feet from the wheel so most of the kids noises and even the tractor engine get drowned out, but still somewhat audible in spots. There are two recordings, one taken from the side with the mic at the wheel and one with the mic under the trailer while recording. (this is the one with the recorder under the trailer. ). Short field recordings made with my iphone in august 2013 while visiting family on one of the many small residential islands located in beaufort, south carolina (of forrest gump, the prince of tides, the big chill, and the great santini fame for any movie buffs out there). The loud buzzing is the ear-piercing mating call of the cicada insect, a sound that's hard to escape in the sultry summer months and semi-tropical environment of the south carolina low country. You can also hear tree frogs and i think maybe some birds too. Unfortunately there's also a little ambient whine of an air conditioner at times and me tip-toeing quietly around on the crunchy gravel dirt road. . . Because i didn't realize my iphone would do such a good job of picking up the sound of my footsteps. :).
