Ship docking at the port of mahón, in menorca. You can hear the sound of the berths and chains being installed. It was recorded from the cargo floor.

The squeaking of rubber fenders squashed between the hull of a cruise liner and the dock wall. The sound of the ship's metal gangplank groaning as it rubs against the quay is in the background.

I was on the ferry going back home and i wanted to record the ferries horn and the announcements. The ship blasts it's horn before leaving the dock and then does safety announcements afterwards. This is that recording. Enjoy.

The morning after christmas 2022 on hood canal. There was a king tide that came up over the stone wall. A king tide occurs when the sun, moon, and earth are in alignment and the combined gravitational pull causes water levels to rise dramatically. I took this recording right next to the pilings where the dock is connected. You can hear the water hitting the metal and wood as it knocks it around. The water eventually washed over the road.

Field recording of diamond lake a few hours before a storm hit that forced all boats to dock. This is in late may of 2022. On a hike at the north end of the lake, i stood at the edge of the water and held my recorder close to the growing waves.

Jet-ski being started on a lake in florida. Microphone on dock directed at jet--ski, jet-ski driven fast away for about 75 yards, slowly turned around, driven back to shore at more moderate speed. Engine turned off when it reaches shore, waves from jet-ski also heard. (when jet-ski reaches shore it is off axis for the microphone). Seadoo 2 stroke engine. From 1:00-2:00in the sky a long way behind me and to the left, but somewhat far in the air, a group of birds are fighting above a large group of trees that are shaped like a ball of veins. Most of the birds are crows, or just black birds; each noise they make is a series of “caws” no different from each other in pitch, tone, or frequency. There's also the sound of 3 small birds directly to my right around 5 meters away from me, making loud but shrill chirping sounds. The birds are each the same size but and are hopping around the perimeter of a cactus right behind them. The wind blows onto the right side of my body and the front of my body. Waves from the ocean are crashing directly behind me, each in long sessions. The way they sound is consistent, like the sound of rain. Occasionally one of the waves will crash, increasing in volume but not in pitch or tone.

I took the wilhelm scream and added a splash effect at the end to simulate a person jumping off from a dock or a boat into the water. The sound i used are from the public domain. There are distant boats/ships, the oil refinery and a few sea birds. The wind was about 2 to 4 mph and that created some very small waves that can be heard lapping against the shore. The sound one water bottle makes when it is flipped in the air. The sound could be used for water bottles, light objects entering a small body of water, and boats swaying in the docks.
