A peaceful, droning, relaxing summer soundscape of the midwestern forest. For starters, in the background you hear a river of wind steadily swirling around the oaks, and the maples and the sycamore trees. A blessed northeast wind-friend. The insects take over, and on top of that, a single, solitary bird, i think a flycatcher, softly calls his one-note. Even though this is the time of year that the visitors, those beautiful neo-tropical migrants, fill the woods, after several months of raising of raising a family, they are quiet, resting now. . . Letting the insects signify the passage of time and the slow march to autumn. In about 6 weeks from now, most of our visitors will have left. . . Back down south, their job of raising the next crop of insect-eaters done. . . And the woods, the forest, the nearly-dry creekbed will be packing it in. Recording done on saturday july 29th, 2017 at 11:30am in the forest near a creek with sound devices 702 and a rode ntg-2 shotgun microphone pointed straight up into the trees.

This is a sound of a mercedes benz 709d mini bus driving on a really hard icy road. It was a rattly old bus, everything squeaked and rumbled on it. I videoed this journey with my canon powershot a460 digital camera, i simply took the sound from the video. It's a good sound, it turned out well thanks to the winter weather, and the rough icy road. This sound was made by me, i tied down my canon powershot a460 digital camera inside the engine bay of my 1993 rover 620si, and it's got a petrol honda engine, no turbo on this version. I had my video recording on my camera in the engine bay while i was driving. I started the engine up and took it for a drive. I simply took the sound off the video. This is a recording i made on sunday november 4th 2012 of the gentle, droning sounds of insects that were singing in a marshy area near the shore of a small lake. This is a very typical ambiance of autumn in the southern portion of illinois. If you listen carefully, you'll hear another very typical fall sound, the cry of blue jays in the heavy woods which surround this lake. One of my favorite sound-scapes. I made this with my rugged and dependable handy zoom h4n recorder, using its built-in microphones. I literaly had it sitting on a small log only about 15 feet from the water's edge. Because the insects were not very loud, i did have to crank up my record volume to 86 on the scale of 100; this means you will hear a little bit of slight wind rumble, but all-in-all i think the recording paints a good picture of the early autumn landscape and everything slows down and winds down for the bitter winter ahead. Enjoy.

The sound of an ice maker on a water cooler doing a few cycles. My amazing aunt harriet amazes again by sending me this sound of her ice maker. She taped her old iphone to the inside of the door on her new water cooler/ice maker combo, and let the ice maker run for a few cycles. She even typed up a description of what it does for me so i could post this here on freesound:the water is pumped from a reservoir underneeth the ice tray into a tray above that houses 9 pegs. The water is then cooled to freezing, while the 9 pegs are simultaneously cooled to hold the ice in place. More water is then pumped into the tray to thicken each piece of ice. After a few minutes, excess water is dumped back into the reservoir and ice falls from the pegs into the ice tray. The process then repeats. Enjoy and use however you like!.

Featured in the game 'noclip vr'!! thank you so so much, reality games online!. This is heavily inspired by the urban myth and/or creepypasta called the backrooms, which have a very distinct atmosphere to them. This is my interpretation. However, this isn't exclusively for backrooms-related stuff! so by all means, if you're simply in need of some interior ambience of any sort, that's also why i made this for you. No advanced processing was used to achieve this sound. I recorded an electrical box in my garage for the buzzing. For the 2nd layer, i turned on some fans in my room, and made a long mono recording of the white-noise. I then split the recording in half, and used each half for the left and right channel, giving it a stereo sound. I then spent an hour leveling all of it because i'm a perfectionist. Yay. Hardware & software used:-audacity-zoom h4n pro (buzzing)-rode nt1 (fan-noise).

Melodic snippets from recordings of me playing the swar sangam. This wonderful instrument is a combination of the swarmandal and the tampura. 15 harp strings and 4 drone/bass strings. In these recordings i am only using the swarmandal (harp) part. It is tuned to c sharp, but i have dropped the fourth note (f sharp) out of the scale. There are four packs with lots of recordings in them, strums, plucks, short improvisations. "short melodic statements" are 1-2 bars. "riffs" are 2-4 bars. "melodies" are about 30 seconds and "runs and flutters" speaks for itself. There is recording of tuning up the swarmandal in the melodies pack. The snippets were taken from recordings done on three different days so you may notice a slight difference in volume and background noise. A couple of the recordings have some ambient noise (bird tweets, wind chimes,)some of the melodies are based around a similar theme but have enough variation to be interesting/useful. I videoed this sound of a subway train in glasgow scotland on the famous "clockwork orange" train as they are called. I used my canon powershot a460 digital camera to video this, i simply took the sound from the video. I was lucky enough to get a good run on this with just a few poeple on board, so there wasn't any other sound apart from the train, the only time you here some movement of feet is when the doors open.
