Recorded opposite the start at goodwood circuit on a wet and windy day in march. Cars pulling out one at a time on wet tarmac. Mixpre3 and rode svmx.

In the sketchy neighborhood near the warehouse a piece of crap supertuner import hot rod, driven by a guy in a neon yellow shirt and white wraparound sunglasses, revs its engine as it passes.

This is a recording taken by a tascam dr-40 interal mics mixed with external sennhesier me-66. Tascam recorded rear exhaust of a stock fr-s on a dynojet while sennhesier recorded engine bay. Mixed to generate what it was like to stand in the room at the side of the car.

Compressor industrial construction atlas copco xavs 186 no low cut close , 20cm to exhaust , steady. Mic sennheiser mkh 8060 , sound devices 633 , no low cut. Rumbling and hissing. Possibly also for creating atmospheres like machine rooms. Feel free for any/commercial use.

A short parade of ferraris on their way up lymington high street. The street is lined with people chatting and cheering at the cars, which beep their horns and rev their engines. Zoom h1 with roland cs-em10 in ear mics. Seems a bit heavy on the low frequencies, but i've left it as-is.

Uk birmingham canal between icc and aston, large factory with very powerful extractor fan exhaust from roof running in foreground. Air flow noise superimposed on fan motor drone with some phasing. H2 zoom front mic with wind shield, hand held, some wind noise, worse towards end, missed the foreground fan switch off.

Recorded using a 1974 mgb sports car. Mic placed on passenger floorboard. Sound of start, idle, accelerating and going through gears, steady state (can be edited and looped for longer scenes) and coast down and shut off. Very throaty sound recorded in-cabin which would be period correct for british cars of that era and useful for in-car scenes behind dialog.

Birds tweeting in the garden with sound of freeway (highway) behind. Traffic noises include hum, cars, and trucks. Occasional use of exhaust braking. Birds are in the garden chirping and tweeting. Useful for a urban garden or other similar scenario. Two microphone setup, both are shure sm57s. Placed on two stands, one channel is nearer to freeway, the other is nearer to garden. Recorded with a behringer umc202hd at 192khz and downsampled to 48khz for upload. No other post-processing.

An extactor hood starting to work, running for a couple of seconds and stops. I decided to not record the switch on, switch off because it didn't "sound right" to me. A short clip of a recording i made from my cbf600 motorcycle gearbox and chain. You can hear gearbox wine (normal), the sound of the chain running over the drive sprocket, some gear shifts and a little wind noise. I recorded it to see what it sounded like. It can make a good reference with which to compare should you think there is a problem in the future. I like the sound of the engine running and gears, normally drowned out by the exhaust. I clipped the mic to the gear lever. If i do it again i will place it further away from the sprocket.

I was just messing around with audacity again, this time slowing down my recording like a tape record, which not only stretched the time, but also turned down the frequency range which resulted in pitch shift. I stumbled around a sound that sounded like a huge horn exhaust - like those war pipes from celtics. So i experimented a little bit and made this one. Original recording was mono (but recorded to stereo track), however i added a reverb effect which created a nice stereo reverb effect. Feel free to use in games :).

Recorded at silverstone circuit from becketts grandstand for the fia formula 3 (race 1) for the 2022 season. Recording captures the entire lap, from the exhaust sound from them coming through the loop, aintree and the wellington straight with them coming past the microphone at maggots, becketts and chapel corners. A drowsy, warm lazy hot day in mid-summer in the forest of the midwestern usa. As is the case around mid-july, the birds are not singing as much. Perhaps they are just exhausted from raising a family and wilting from the heat. The insect chorus ebbs and flows, like the ocean waves creeping up on the beach, and retreating back. Except, unlike the ocean which never stops moving, the insects will eventually stop singing and hibernate for the winter. I have always loved the sound of propeller-driven planes and their slow, molasses-like sound. That sound has always induced a melancholy touch to the recordings. To me, this drowsing plane symbolizes change -- even though the birds and plants are still in full growth, the end is near. . . In about four more weeks schools will resume, the emphasis for many will turn inward. Leaving the woods to deal with the transition. The droning plane, like ocean waves, symbolize change. . . In several months there woods will be drastically changed. Recording made on july 18, 2022 using sound devices mixpre 6 and the sennheiser mkh 8020 omnidirectional microphone.
