This sound was recording while standing against the fence at the burbank/hollywood (formerly bob hope) airport. I was standing in the direct path of the plane as it passed over me at about 60 feet.

Recorded in kanawha state forest in west virginia on a dr70r with shotgun mic. Some clean up and noise reduction with rx8 in reaper. It's a small mountain creek but it's pretty prominent in the sound, i'm about 10 feet away. I also have a version where i bring down creek noise, check the profile.

A tiny baby chipmunk chirping at me and looking at me as a stern warning. It was about 2 inches long and sitting on a tree branch about 4 feet in the air. Walking in crunchy, icy snow along the side of a tarmack road. Recorded in stereo 24 bit 96 khz with the internal mics on a sony m10 with windjammer. The ambience takes place in a forest near madrid, on october, 2015. The sound is the reproduction of footsteps of a runner approaching. The effect that is produced is like a doppler effect, but i didn't change the recording. I recorded it with a zoom h4n. The sound can be used as a background resource. I wanted to capture tramp of feet on gravel moving away, as a typical sound to be used in stories.

Recording taken from a train at about 20 feet away. It was very windy, so consequently, the majority of the track was very much ruined. There is a small click near half-way, caused by a brief release of steam. It might prove annoying if you are planning on looping it. There is also not an even right/left balance throughout, due to my movement to avoid the wind.

A recording made near monument creek. I needed to block wind noise and so there are strange fluctuations with the eq, although maybe this is a feature and not a bug for someone out there. I walked away from the rapids until i was about twenty feet away. At one point, a helicopter passed over, and you may hear a motorcycle ride by.

I was on a walk and i decided to go under a busy bridge to record some foley. I'm about 4 feet from the top of the bridge and it was fairly large so there will be some reverberation. There was also a river nearby, around 10 meters away. This sound is in open domain, use it freely without need for retribution or credit.

I needed the sound effect for a car arriving. These were recorded in my driveway. 2011 honda element, waliking to car, starting it, backing down driveway, driving back up driveway, stopping car and walking away. Recorded using the internal mics of a zoom h2n. Recorded was on a tripod about three feet from car. These sounds were originally used in a performance of vanya, and masha, and sonia and spike.

Here's some ambience i recorded in 2021 when i went to surf side beach, texas for a weekend vacation with family. This was recorded from the decking of the house we were staying in. The beach was probably around 50 yards away from us, give or take a few feet. The ambience was recorded with the sennheiser ambeo smart headset (no longer made) connected to an apple iphone 8 with an app called backpack studio acting as the actual recorder.

Recorded may 23rd 2022 at noon for the 70 year anniversary of the first siren test in sedgwick county, kansas. (april 22, 1952). 50-65 feet from the siren. This thunderbolt was installed in 1952 and remained until sometime between 2012 and 2015 when the siren head was replaced with a newer bolt. The original controls and blower remain, however.

Door to stairwell opens and closes and someone walks up two sets of stairs, the first one slighty faster than the second. Then another door is opened and the walker enters an office where music is playing very softly and there's a bit of an office din. The office portion can also sound like entering a hotel lobby or outer waiting area of a symphony orchestra concert. The stairwell is concrete and metal. It's very echo-y. An edited version of freesound #162268 by eneaszthe intervals between the dog running are removed. It came out surprisingly well. No skipping or clipping or any of that whatsoever. As this is the very second sound effect i've ever uploaded, i could benefit from feedback. It was quite loud, my gain was set extremely low, enough that i didn't pick up any of the road traffic with cars passing a few feet behind me. Rain & distant thunder around 8pm in warren, michigan (suburb of detroit). Recorded on a zoom h1n. Some faint traffic sounds & a bit of white noise coming from an air-conditioner unit. Zoom h1n was placed in my porch light compartment about 2 feet below our rain gutter. Most of the original hour long recording was ruined due to wind gust, but i edited it down to the only continuous 11 minutes without the gust of wind.

Some guys across the alley were throwing things out the window this morning, which woke me up and ticked me off. Instead of yelling at them, i put up my mic and recorded the impacts. This is the raw audio from the recording (only mono, sorry, didn't have time to set up two mics). Some really nice impacts and other hidden goodies in here. Here is the sound of a 50-caliber barrett rifle being fired. You'll first hear the sound of the bolt being pulled back. Really cool sound if you can listen on some nice big speakers. Recorded with my handy zoom h4n using a rode ntg-2 shotgun microphone. I was standing about 20 feet from the rifle, and i still have the input gain turned way down to about 30, just to make sure the circuitry was not overloaded. Also, since this was in a big, wide-open field, you get a nice echo.

Fast moving stream down from one of the waterfalls at silver falls state park in oregon. Water is flowing over rocks. Recorded, sorry to say, on my canon t3i mounted on tripod about 3 feet from the water so there is very little stereo separation. Runs at about -10db. Enjoy, i plan to upload more from my trip. It is dusk on an autumn evening on the south side of the river thames, a few feet downstream from vauxhall bridge. Innumerable starlings have congregated in a murmuration underneath (in fact inside the fabric of) the bridge to noisily discuss the day before sleep. Overhead, cars and buses thump across the bridge panels, while small groups of city workers, nurses and spies head home or for drinks. All the while the river laps away as an unconscious heartbeat, and is churned up by the thrum of a passing riverboat.

Midwestern forests can be quite noisy during the early spring when the various neo-tropical migrants invade the woods to get fat of insects and to raise a family. In this recording, made on the bank of a small creek situated in a ravine, you will hear various birds including, northern parula, louisiana waterthrush, an eastern phoebe, a carolina wren and an american robin. You can hear the neighbor kid's tv on the other side of the wall in the background along with the roar of distant trains and traffic. Pacific tree frogs at night during mating season in british columbia. Slight wind sounds and occasional noises made by a black lab readjusting her feet on the concrete :-). Recording is mostly to the left but sometimes shifts a few degrees to the right, and the frog's build from only a few to dozens over the duration. Captured across the street from a water filled culvert in the southern gulf islands on an olympus ls7 portable digital recorder.

Moderately flowing stream - jack creek in central oregon's cascade mountains flows out of the ground at the base of three fingered jack mountain. The water comes from a glacier on the mountain a couple of miles from where multiple springs create the large creek bubbling up from the dry ground. This recording was done several hundred feet downstream where the creek was already about 50 wide and only about a foot deep. Recorded on the shortest day of the year at the edge of a lake where the wind was gusting from the south at 15 to 20 miles an hour. At the beginning you hear some geese in the distance. This recording was made using my sony pcm m-10 with it's internal microphones set to level 5 input volume. I actually placed the recorder, carefully, in a crook of some branches in an oak tree about 5 feet above the ground---very near a big clump of dead and brown oak leaves. . . . This gives you that wonderful sound of the wind hissing through the leaves.

A recording in the midwestern forest made on sunday september 27th, 2015 around 3:00pm in early autumn. At this time of the year a lot of the summer neo-tropical migrant songbirds either have left for their winter home, or, are quieting down and preparing to leave. During this transition period in early fall the woods are not as loud as, say, three weeks ago. Even the insects seem subdued. At around 12 seconds into this recording you hear the squeaky call of a tree-frog. Recording made with marantz pmd661 and two sennheiser me-66 microphones mounted on a tripod about 4 feet above the ground.
