This "punch" was created by slapping a piece of steak against wood. It's not quite an action movie punch but it sure sounds like a hit. This was recorded at the open window institute sound booth in centurion, south africa.

I decided to experiment with a metal slinky, with the intention of creating some science-fiction sounds. Here is a string out of what could potentially be used as "laser gun shots". I was actually trying to make a different (but similar) sound for another purpose, and when i heard these, it reminded me of old kung fu movies where someone would throw a punch and just hit the air.

Did this punching a shirt 4 times, and then rubbing the shirt with another 4 times. I found it great for torso and leg hits(first 4), and great for de-grappling moves and push aways(last 4).

This is a group of male turkeys fighting. There are a variety of different sounds produced by the birds. I could not get the wind noise out of the recording. This was recorded using the built-in stereo mics on a zoom h4n pro handy recorder.
