This is a recording i made of the ambience at our local diner one man band-- it's a staple of our local culture and still maintains a, "50s diner" kind of atmosphere-- something you can feel in the air when you visit the place-- i hoped to capture that dynamic with this recording-- the sound of utah-- something lost in time and yet so progressional. The sound of a culture being brought to its adolescence.

A tiny baby chipmunk chirping at me and looking at me as a stern warning. It was about 2 inches long and sitting on a tree branch about 4 feet in the air. I wanted to make a sound effect for a game i'm developing, and so i recorded a 100-mm artillery cannon at camp williams (utah national guard), then modified the sounds using audacity. The recording was done on an olympus digital recorder in the mid-2000s (first decade). It sounded a little to me like the tribute cannon from hunger games (the sound effect that signals the deaths of the tributes), thus the name.
