Made from taking two large atx (the form factor, the chassis) computer panels (that i havent used in quite some time), rubbing the entirety of them together quite brashly (one is on the ground), keeping the recorder on xy setup in my other hand in unison then dropping them onto each other. Inside of reaper, i begin changing the rate and pitching them down and applied saturation, distortion and reverberation gave them a very clean effect of a decrepit gate shutting down. Good for trapping your enemies in a battle to the death for which the title is inspired from; one of those tension moments a person in a film/game finds themselves in.

1 looping envelope and 2 vclfos in a dance (chain connected). I think its harder for this combination to find a nice pattern - equilibrium. It happens sometimes. Maybe the mixture between positive and negative cv confuses the modules. Makes it harder. I start the recording with one of the vclfos in vco-mode. After about 17 sec i swith to lfo-mode. Records and hope that a pattern should emerge. I have been listening, and looking at the wave form, in different modes, but i'm not sure if there is a pattern in this recording. . . Maybe to advanced for me. There is - some -sort of pattern repeating every 22 sec. Or?.

Just having some fun with the 6 inches of snow that we received. The first part of this is me walking/breaking some ice that had formed in a low area and then me walking on snow, which has a frosty glaze on top of it. Recorded with the handy/zoom h-4n recorder using its built-in microphones. The built-in microphones can be adjusted to pick up sound from 90 degrees around the microphones to 180 degrees. For this recording, i had them on 180 degrees. *note, you will also -- if you listen carefully -- hear a male robin singing in a tree. Pretty unique combination - the snow and ice being crunched with the typical sound of spring in background. He must have been one tough bird!.

My first upload to freesound is a thunderstorm recorded in gateshead, uk, next to our open bathroom window. Some lovely thunderclaps and rain. Recorded on a zoom h5. There are also some household sounds swimming around in the background, doors closing, dishes clinking etc; i think you can hear the radio or something very faintly towards the end -- but there's plenty of clean usable thunder and rain in there. Incidentally i often use this type of thing in my long-form instrumental music, produced under the name conelrad. I have a podcast of album-length instrumental music which comes out every other week, called conelcast. Check it out wherever you get podcasts or at conelrad. Co. This is the recording of an audible pedestrians traffic light in paris, france. These devices are here to help visually impaired people cross the streets in a safe way. They come under the form of a little beige box with a hidden button underneath. You have to push the button to hear the annoucement. You can find them all over the city. The sequence goes as follows: first, an annoucement in french says "red light for pedestrians", followed by the street name, then a jingle goes on, followed by a series of bell-like sounds, signaling a green light. I maed this recording because i needed that particular sound for a show i was working on and couldn't find it on freesound. Recorded with a zoom h2n in stereo m/s mode (set to mono).

Autumn forest wind. Heavy, fast gusty in tall pine trees. Some birds and raindrops. Soundscapes of natural white noise of moderate intensity. Some are stagnant or static and with few birds. The presents of the colourful red and yellow dry leaves that is still on the trees, creates the noise of the wind with rustling whispers. Is a constantly form of natural white noise that is always changing and evolving. These recordings is from my third attempt. I think it is very difficult to record the “spirit” and unique sound of the wind. This is pure natural wind sounds (no layering, no post-processing, no synthesizers). Originally recorded at 24 bit sony dat tcd-d7 on a sony ecm-909 microphone. Recorded in sweden september of 2007 in a wet cold beautiful colourful forest, with all kind of trees, far away from any traffic or human sounds.

This stereo recording was made on november 23, 2014 in grays harbor washington during a rare thunderstorm. The clip contains rain falling on a wooden deck and recurring peals of thunder both near and far. This original recording was made using a zoom h-6 handy recorder with zoom stereo xy microphone. The track was edited in audacity 2. 0. 6 to remove a few artifacts. Total run time for this wav file is: 8:29. This is my first upload. I am hearing impaired and new to field audio recording. I am fascinated by this art form and hearing sounds that i haven’t been able to hear in twenty years. The song was originally commissioned by Lieutenant Governor of Quebec Théodore Robitaille for the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day ceremony, 1880. In hinduism and its many derived views of life, there are a number of "realms", each with their own forms of consciousness. The oldest of these is the realm of the minerals, the stones. This is followed by plants, animals, humans, angels and gods. Each kingdom is divided into layers, in the human realm the "caste's" or social layers. Hindus believe that through good works you can be born in a higher caste or even realm in the next life. Among the people who belong to the caste of brahmans, the priestly caste, it happens that some have memories of many past lives. This track represents the connection between the heartbeat of a brahman priest during his meditation and his energetic vibrations, long time ago, as crystal. He discovers that time is an illusion and that all his lives are layers one on another creating a building, the shape of his eternal existence. He has yet to build further but is well on his way. Right now, he should not be proud, or in the next life he will be certainly no angel but falls back to a previous level.

This wav file is a take-away from a midi track my current project. The vst instrument is 4front e-piano and it's free! - the root key is g major, starting off in the piano roll at g3. The bottom drops to g2 and uses heavy steps, separated by a key to reach g2. Going back up to g3, the notes are shortened and no keys are skipped. Hence the fairytale stares ascents. The ceiling above g3 is g5. So 1 octave down, 2 up. The tight stairstep is maintained above g3. There is just downward notes to keep it sounding like a saw form. The entire sound should be in-key and loopable. Each of the 16 bars is unique. I didn't just copy and paste the same notes several times. - my next step is to apply a different midi sound. Sorry for the book. I hope this helps someone.

This is the first recording in this pack from inside a traditional, working old dutch windmill, called de lelie - the lily - in the picturesque dutch village of eenrum. This mill was used to grind grain. There was a strong northwesterly breeze straight from te sea, so the sails of the windmill were in full swing, this morning on saturday may 14th. The dominant sound you hear is the sound of the so called “schuddebak”, litterally translated as “shaking bin”. This is a device in the form of a large wooden shovel which is tapping against the turning millstone in order to distribute the grain equally along the millstone. On the background you hear the millstone itself. On the second recording in this pack, the millers had detached the schuddebak, so the sound of the millstone is more dominant in that recording. This windmill is now a small museum. Admission is free, so everyone can admire this proud dutch windmill heritage which reclaimed half our country from the sea and gave us our daily bread. Thanks to the millers fort heir hospitality and cooperation!. (i used an iphone with a zoom iq5).

I play a little sequence made with cvlfo , clock divider, attenuverter, quantiziser. The way i usually do…. But the interesting thing is the cvad (?) voltage controllable envelope generator. But in the case of alm pip slope you just control attack and decay. Seems to be enough. As in the other versions of this sound i connect one lfo to attack and a second lfo to decay. But this time i connect the vcad to control the frequency of a filter. Interesting. I wish i had two more cvlfos… should open up for rhythmical usage. I use no vca or adsr. I have connected the vco straight to the vcf and the vcf to mixer. In the beginning i have the frequency pot at 2 a clock then i gradually move it clock wise and let the vcad take control. 1 minute in the pot is fully clock wise. The vco is playing a sawtooth wave. If you dl and inspect the wave you can see that in the beginning and the end it is a sawtooth wave, but in the middle part the filter affects the wave form.

These sounds were recorded in a dumpster for a sound installation project. The ease at which members of our society buy and dispose of our goods is quite disgusting, much more than the experience of rescuing useful things from the trash. The idea of making things to be thrown makes no sense unless money is the highest form of good. Companies make things to be disposable so they can sell more, with no thought of what will happen when we have used up too much, or the environment becomes so polluted that it can no longer support human life. Dumpster diving has many negative connotations, but recently it appears to have been embraced by freegans and those who are environmentally minded. The act saves things from thousands of years of preservation in a landfill, while decreasing production. I often try to forage for useful items and food in the wild, while dumpster diving is more like urban foraging; an experience that reveals the culture of the city, rather than the culture of the nature. The sad fact is that what i leave in the wild is used and recycled naturally, while what i leave in a dumpster is sealed in a time capsule that will outlast present successes and show future generations how we have failed, should future generations come.

Made in ableton live. A slow firing heavy weapon. 19 layers were used to create this one. Eq was used to select different frequencies from various weapon samples and compressed together for the inital transient or pop. Time based fade in/out layering was used for the sustain and reverb tails so they fit nicely together. The single shot that was layered together was then printed as a new audio sample. I created a loop and pitched every shot by a few cents or 1 semitone to add variation. Each sample was then manually shifted on the timeline forward or backward by milliseconds to give a more realistic feel in timing rather than sound robotic. Each shot was sidechained to duck down in volume when a new shot triggers for more clarity. Mechanical trigger and bolt movement samples were add in before/after the initial transient of the shot. Shell hit floor samples were used for added detail. I felt the shots lacked a good sub bass so an eq was used to filter out the sub and replaced with a rapidly decaying 808 kick drums sub. Once the loop was formed, all shots were then grouped together and processed with a transient designer into a clipper, a compressor, a maximizer, ott multiband, gluing reverb, stereo spread and then into a final limiter. An actual new production instead of old stuff! made in june of 2020. A dark intro implies the humming engines of the spaceship you're in as you're traveling at speeds unimaginable. Slowly the ship starts to spring to life. As you open your eyes, slow but huge bands of light sweeps across your cryogenic sleeping pod, as if being scanned. The pod starts to move while you're still in it, going through chambers filled with machinery and bleeping computer stations, until it stops in front of a huge closed door. Suddenly, your pod opens up as well as the door. Your eyes are greeted with the majestic sight of a gigantic control room with windows as far as the eyes can see, galaxies fills your field of view, a beautiful synergetic view of the grandeur of space and the hundreds of lights of the control room, welcoming you to a new adventure. 2 simple chords form the basis of a textural composition supplied with sound effects. Plugins used: ni kontakt 5 with atom hub's the planet, doom by sampletraxx, space by rigid audio, ni absynth, and massive vst synths. Extra sound effects: shocking signal and ui designer by sampletraxx, heavily sampled and mangled. This is a reading from the second chapter of "nathaniel's nutmeg: or, the true and incredible adventures of the spice trader who changed the course of history", by giles milton. It is also intended for the freesound sound museum to represent books as what is fading rapidly into obsolescence. By the time you read this, you may not even know what a books is. Books are when the written word is compiled onto sheets of paper in a long-form volume. You may not know what paper is. Paper is commonly used to write on or make oregano cranes with, being flat and thin rectangles made from trees. You probably won't remember what a tree was. That is a very sad thing. They are all gone now, destroyed in feckless deference to paper. When the paper runs out, there will be nothing left to write our collective histories on, what we desperately need. When this occurs, it will stand as the moment our past was truly lost, leaving us lost the same, drifting in circles. Until another man or woman rises up to invent trees again, thus beginning the cycle anew. It's a beautiful idea. We should always be moving towards the future, not lost in syrupy memories of old forests not seen for what they really are: petrified wood and amber. Leave that with the other fossils and relics. Let it be the final page written on the last book until it crumbles to dust. Let it go. The file was recorded using a mid/side stereo technique at 24bits, downsampled to 16bits under the loving care of gaussian dither. The room was treated as best i could to be acoustically pleasing and quiet. I think you will find the noise floor to be particularly well balanced and textured, suitable for post-production tasks, or just for relaxing with at home. .
