A parisian fire truck passes about 150 feet away and briefly turns on its siren to make sure nobody overlooks it. Emergency vehicles in france have either two-tone or three-tone sirens. Vehicles to which one must yield the right of way, such as fire trucks, use the two-tone siren. The three-tone siren (not on this recording) is used for vehicles that do not require drivers to yield but should still be given some priority.
