Recorded in crivitz, wisconsin. On this dock you could hear sounds from across the entire lake. Recorded in march 2021, while the lake was beginning to melt. Dogs can be heard barking, you can hear cars roll down the streets, and occasionally there are some sounds of people talking, as the lake is surrounded by peoples' homes.

This was an attempt at the ice speed record by a rocket powered snow machine called the arctic arrow. The old record was 247 mph. On this run he goes 241mph but at the finish line he loses control and crashes quite dramatically! the driver, kurt anderson walked away. I have photos of the crash as well if interested. A huge ice storm moves in to the back woods of north carolina on 01/30/2014. First it snowed. . . And then it sleeted. When all that sleet froze on the surface of the snow, walking in this winter-wonderland produced an amazing sound. So, i put on my boots, grabbed my zoomh4n and set out to record the magic!. This would be very useful as foley fx for walking in any frozen environment. I walked on various surfaces and depths of ice and snow throughout. I tried to leave enough space between steps so that the sounds do not overlap so that they can be cut for editing purposes. Enjoy!. - christopher c. Courter.

A testpicture which shows a greyscale in sstv using mode martin1. Sstv stands for "slow scan television". Sstv is a kind of modulation to send a frozen picture enclosed in a transmissionchannel normally used for speech. This allowes to send pictures directly, for instance, on shortwave.

This sample is part of the icefield-library. I used a pair of soundman okm2 mics as contact microphones which i fixed to the surface of a frozen lake, then recorded the sounds made by throwing or skimming several stones and pebbles across the ice. Wonderful effects can also be achieved by filtering or timestretching the files.

Blending a smoothie. Blender goes on and off a couple of times to help churn frozen strawberries. During the blending, there is the sound of a spoon tapping on the pitcher.
